13 Nov 19 Comment A+ for capturing the eye so sharply. The muted background is a perfect way to enjoy both a beautiful bird and an interesting plant. You see so many bird photos but this one is very creative in terms of using a minimal background and an interesting plant composition and a cute bird. Great photo and it has probably won some awards. 13 Nov 19 Comment This may be a gold swift moth and according to what I've read is small brown moth, and has one of the most complex sex lives in the insect world. Despite the insect's unassuming appearance, a new study reports a variety and complexity in its mating patterns and sexual positions worthy of an insect Karma Sutra.

It looks like you have captured a moth mating ritual. I like the composition and the sharpness of the photo. It take a few seconds to realize the wings are overlapped since they look so much alike, but it is very easy to see the sharp detail of the moths. I also love the backdrop of bright green leaves and dark shadows.

13 Nov 19 Comment I love the composition. It captures so many interesting interactions and emotions between the egrets. I have never seen one extend and twist its neck like the one on the left - one mate is definitely happy that the other is back home to help with the kids. There are so many interesting things to look at beyond the bird composition and probably my favorite is the turtle that is climbing out of the water on to the log. Nov 15th
13 Nov 19 Comment Those are some very interesting birds, and I have never seen photos of them before. Because of that I am immediately pulled into the photo trying to see if I can recognize the subject. The contrast of the two beak shapes is interesting in that evolution has helped one bird develop a beak that works great for catching and eating fish and the other one is a beak that function best when eating small worms. Good selection of field of view as you have a nice bokeh effect in the background. Nov 15th
13 Nov 19 Comment I guess all the Canada geese live in Arkansas - there are a bunch of them on the island I live on and they never leave. Given that, this image has a strong initial impact on me since it reminds me of all the geese that poop in my yard. I like your field of view as the goose is sharp but the foreground and background are a blurred. I've never looked that close at a goose, but this one has some odd knees. Nov 15th
