Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
66 Jul 19 Comment Thank you everyone for the feedback. The day when I took this picture was very dark and dreary, the ocean was very calm. But I agree, for a 20 sec exposure there should have been more "silky floss". The original has more of the hint of water movement but my processing could have eliminated some of the effect. Need to revisit and try IR long exposures again. Jul 25th
66 Jul 19 Comment Emil, the clouds drew me in! The drama is at full force in this image. I second Palli's edit providing greater contrast and darkening of the clouds, I personally sometimes tend toward the darker side when processing. The great highlight on the composition to me is the lighter opening in the horizon: after the storm, some calm will come. Cheers! Jul 25th
66 Jul 19 Comment Palli, at first the image seems busy and crowded. But as my eye goes over the image looking at the details, the hero of the composition jumps out at me: the branch reflection on the water. Very good treatment of the details on the bank and treatment of the water and its reflections. Cheers! Jul 25th
66 Jul 19 Comment Gary, the wide horizontal composition draws me into the image. The toning and details are spot on with the decaying barn and associated structures. The detail on the structure is incredible! The IR sky is well done. Cheers! Jul 25th
66 Jul 19 Comment Charles, the colors, tones, and contrast on this image are very well done. The composition can be improved with a little more space around the cabin. The texture of the cabin really contrasts with the foreground ferns in a very pleasing manner. I second Jack's point to see the image in B&W. Cheers! Jul 25th
66 Jul 19 Comment Jack, the composition of this image is striking. The natural landscape with the rolling hills and clouds contrast very well with the pole and power lines. Gary's adjustments bring out the sky and clouds and provides a good contrast with the rolling hills. The Palouse is an excellent landscape subject with any technique or medium. Cheers! Jul 25th
66 Jul 19 Comment Melanie, this is the first time I see a butterfly imaged in IR and it delivers! Your processing is spot on and it portrays a simple image with very high visual impact. You have identified a new area to explore for me with IR. Cheers! Jul 25th
