66 May 19 Comment Hi folks, and thank you for your feedback on this image. Next time, I need to be on the dead center of a structure when I use the 10mm. So I lined up the image to the building in front of me but I was a tad off to the left of center and the right part of the structure was not in perfect symmetry with the left. Need to see how to correct without throwing off the rest of the image. I loved taking this image, I think the other people in there with me were looking at me a little funny while I was looking straight up with a camera. Mind you I was the only one there with a "camera". Ok I lied, my wife had a "camera" too. Everyone else had their smartphones out. :) May 28th
66 May 19 Comment Hi Palli, loved to see the experimentation you did with this image. The two major points I see have already been brought: center bright spot and business of the image. Gary's cropping and treatment took care of both of them. Do some more experimentation in future images, looking forward to seeing them. Cheers! May 28th
66 May 19 Comment Hi Gary, this image really pulls me in as is. The composition, toning of the overall image and placement of the ruins makes me stop and conjure up stories of what went on here. The foreground gives me some space to stand back and appreciate the ruins in the solace of the desert. The treatment of the sky is spot and the darkening of the mountains to the left and right draws the eyes right to the ruins. Cheers! May 28th
66 May 19 Comment Hi Charles, great subject for IR. I guess I have a little different view of the image: I really like the 50/50 split of the horizon and would have liked to see a full reflection of the trees. It would really strike the viewer with the symmetry. Melanie's feedback on reducing the number of trees is spot on in my opinion, and using a square crop provides that 50/50 split I was referring to. Clean up some of the white spots on the water and flip the image on the horizon (water on top and sky on the bottom) and it will stop the viewer and make them look longer at the images. Cheers! 66 May 19 Comment Hi Jack, the overall composition of the image is very dynamic. The tree mimics the inclination of the hill it is on and the branches all have a similar alignment going upwards from left to right. Even the branches in the foreground provide leading lines pointing towards the base of the tree. The clouds in the background provide further interest in the image. One suggestion is to darken just a bit the bushes on the left side of the hill and some of the grass in front of the tree trunk. Cheers! May 28th
66 May 19 Comment Hi Melanie, I always learn something from your images. This image has great composition going for it with the arching branch coming from the right and framing the scene. The contrast of the black fence to the white lawn really sets off the image. The brightening of the image worked really well in making it pop. The buildings in the background provide context and interest to draw the eye all the in to the image. One suggestion, is to flip the image and have the branch coming from the left? Just a suggestion. Cheers! May 28th
66 May 19 Comment Hi Emil, this image was a stunner for me! I favour a monochrome treatment for IR images but the muted colors you used on this scene really caught my attention. I do agree the green on the left needs to find some balance elsewhere in the image. But other than that, it is good for me. Cheers! May 28th
