71 Apr 20 Reply John--I think you may be right. I've become wedded to the cliff face since it took a lot of time and effort to light it. Apr 16th
71 Apr 20 Reply Thanks Maria Apr 16th
71 Apr 20 Reply Thanks Nancie. I'll try lightening the cliff face.

71 Apr 20 Comment I love this landscape--I want to go there. I think you have all the information you need for an even more stunning shot. If you can replace blue sky with the pink sky and then adjust the color balance in the rocks (not much) to make it look realistic. Terrific! Apr 12th
71 Apr 20 Comment I like a lot about this image includeing the clarity of the trees on the upper right and the beautiful cloud at the bottom. Knowing that the dynamic range of the shot was going to be more than the D850 (or probably any camera) can handle) I would have taken another shot (do you have one?) with the sun not blown out and blended the images--a quick HDR. The other thing is you could consider adding some luminance to the top of the reflected cloud on the bottom. It is really interesting. Apr 12th
71 Apr 20 Comment Fun shot and the retriever makes the story. It's also a good image for patterns in nature. The only thing I might have done differently is not crop so close at the top (some heads are cut off). Do you have file content you can work with? Apr 12th
71 Apr 20 Comment Nice compositions Maria. I like Stuart's redo and I would have gone farther by blurring the green leaves on the bottom. That would likely enhance the gorgeous flower. Apr 12th
71 Apr 20 Comment Well done--it must have been an electric moment. While I like silhouettes they can be too much in landscape. Is there enough data in your raw file to bring out some detail on the far shore--I think It might make the image more interesting. Apr 12th
71 Apr 20 Comment I agree with Mike's sentiment about the truck. Rather than additional cropping I would have cloned out the truck and left more breathing space around the windmill. You could also crop some from the left, enhancing the windmill. Apr 12th
71 Apr 20 Reply Thanks for taking the time to comment. Are you asking where the light is coming from as an artistic question (you're confused where the light is coming from) or a technical question? Apr 12th
