Thanks also to you Nancie. I did darken the light spot in the grass and bring up some detail in the trees. The image was improved. I'm also happy that all members of this group seem open to the idea of altering the raw landscape files. |

Thanks all for the comments.
John--yes I masked the leaves, but it was really hard.

I agree that the flat light made it difficult for this image to pop. |

Well done. I might open the shadows in the distance hoodoos a little to create some sense of distance. |

Soon after I started looking at the image, which is very good in its own right, I thought about ways to simplify it. The tree on the left and it's relationship to the sky and water are central to me. So I cropped the image, decreased some of the clarity to take some of the harshness out of this serene scene and played with the tree a little. Curious as to what others think. |

Lovely image. I am not as bothered as others by the pine trees on the bottom left. My suggestion would be to see if you could bring more drama to the sky. See if you can bring out more of the orange color in the clouds. You could try to use a graduated filter in LR and darken the sky some and try adding a little dehaze. |

Agree with others comments--terrific daytime shot. I would love to be there at sunrise/sunset. My only nitpick is that I feel like the train track, which is interesting to me, is too close to the edge of the image. Well done. |
