Let's start with one point - I was in an underground station not a film set or studio. I cannot just get up and move windows or fixed objects around to suit a picture. I am aware that with the latest versions of PS or LR we can fiddle around removing, replacing or whatever, but that is not what this picture is about. It is about capturing life as it is and as it happens. There are some valid points made which I will take on board for when lock-down is over and I can go back to Westminster Station, but please folks can we keep this to photography with a few necessary tweaks such as composition, light, shadows, mid-tones etc and not into creative computer work. I wish to improve on photography not creative computer wizardry |

Excellent comments from everyone. Of course the addition of the foreground scene as in 'being taken from the cafe on the platform' is a must - I had realized that something was missing there. Thanks for not just pinpointing that fact, but all the other comments. I captured the image at Westminster station on the London Underground network and I was thinking of going back to re-take the image from that particular place again - once the Covid virus abates and we can get back out again, I will make this place for a re-capture. Now that I have your very welcome points - all of them - I can go back at the earliest possible time and take extra care. I admit that I had literally got off a train and grabbed a coffee before heading off to a meeting but there was something about the scene that I wanted to capture.I also remember the time - about 6:30 in the evening. I will have to go on a day when I am not rushing. With your comments on board, I can aim for a better image. Huge thanks to all of you. |

Hi Gloria - this is definitely the sort of advice I needed. Thanks. I will have a look at both color AND mono again to see if I can improve the clarity. Thanks again |
