Hi - you are all saying what I thought, but before deciding how to proceed with this project I needed to actually hear it from other people and not just a niggle in the back of my own brain. Thanks for making sure I do NOT go in the wrong direction with this idea. Thanks |

That's exactly the same here - assessing my own work. |

Worth a try Diana - quite a few of my creatives have bombed at salons or competitions, but one thing I've learned the hard way......competitions and exhibitions are totally different ball games. The joke I have with my creative images is 'if it is a total disaster in a competition or salon, the better it will do in an exhibition'. Not all the time, but a good enough proportion to prove the joke correct. My better performing creative image was recently accepted into the Los Angeles Center For Digital Art - and a judge at one of my clubs in London reckoned it is total rubbish and I should count myself lucky to get a score of 14/20. I know this is a monochrome group, but I will attach the image just to show what I meant. |

WELL DONE!!!!!! I am a total lover of creative and the attempt to get out of the typical representation. Whether or not photographically correct - it is an image which in an exhibition will make people stop and look. Whatever the reaction (for or against) is still a reaction - which is infinitely better than no reaction at all (or just a patronizing 'quite nice'and image forgotten 5 seconds later). Two years ago I had a 16 image solo exhibition of my local neighourhood in exactly this distorted style but in full colour. 10 images sold. Again Diana - WELL DONE. |
