Thanks, Judith! I might try reshooting this sometime to see why that arm position looks odd. It wasn't an uncomfortable position--so I'm not sure why it looks unnatural in the image. |

Hi Everyone,
I've incorporated some/most of the suggestions and here is the current revision. I've tried lightening the exposure on the background arm more, however the arm is at an odd position and when I bring more focus to it it looks distorted. So I think I'm going to leave it with just more of a suggested arm with some of the exposure on the upper arm of the background arm increased (the sleeve part). Any feedback appreciated! |

Hi Jane,
Thank you for your suggestions! I've applied some of all the suggestions and will post the updated image separately.

Thank you for your kind comments! I'll experiment with that left-side exposure adjustment, and I'll work on fixing the hot spot on my nose. I appreciate your suggestions! |

Beautiful! The composition is ideal with the three mushrooms at varying heights, their light-colored tops against the dark background. There is drama/impact as well--we know these to be small mushrooms, but they appear with a majesty and strength in the image, and almost a familial quality. My only suggestions would be to experiment some with cropping in on the left and right, and the top a bit. And darkening the top, with a little (very minor) vignetting. An example attached. I also dehazed it a touch and cloned out some of the dark spots on the mushrooms, but I don't think that's necessary--I was just seeing how it would look. Great eye for finding this! It's a thoughtful image. |

Hi Peter,
This has a lovely ethereal quality to it. The petals appear to radiate a glowing light which is very powerful in the image. The three circles in the middle of the flower (I'm not sure if these are the bees?) are the only things I would question, since they give the flower a face-like appearance (two eyes and an open mouth). Maybe that is what you are going for? If not, maybe consider cloning those out in order to leave the emphasis on the glowing petals. |

Beautiful! There is a serene sense of motion in this image, from the two figures walking into the frame to the slightly blurred clouds which indicate movement in the sky. There is also the motion of the diagonal going into the frame toward the upper right, and the movement of the hillside going upward left. The trees left and right keep my eyes from leaving the frame. Nice balance of B&W with the clouds in the sky and the foreground. I don't have any suggestions other than to wonder what the shot would have looked like with more blur in the foreground to indicate wind--but obviously not something that can be modified in post. Very nice image! |

Hi! There are a lot of fascinating elements to this shot. I think the inclusion of the figure helps identify the scale and gives an anchoring element to focus on. There is an appealing symmetry to the light-colored triangular shape leading into the frame from the bottom and the dark-colored triangular shape leading in from the top. As well, there is the dark rectangular building shape on the left, and the light-colored building shape on the right. The off-center (more space on the right side than the left) works for me--I think it helps create drama where a more symmetrical layout wouldn't maybe? All in all, a very intriguing shot. No suggestions for improvement. |

Hi Judith,
Thanks for your suggestions. I originally played around in LR quite a bit with the gradient filter, and I think I prefer the softer/less lighting. Since the moon is not actually the light source (the moon is lit, but the lighting on the face and arms is primarily from an off-camera flash), I thought keeping the dimmer light made it more likely to appear to be coming from the moon ball. I'll keep experimenting though! Thanks again for your input!

Hi Judith,
Thanks for your comments! I've played with the image some more to lighten that arm. Because of the position of my arms (angled out a bit) and wearing a 3/4 length shirt, there's an odd kind of look when I expose too much of that arm. I've increased the exposure there a wee bit, but not very much--do you think that helps?
Thanks!
