Hi Stan,
I removed that "500" sign and was surprised at what a nice difference that made. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm still hoping for a clear night for shooting the moon and/or stars--but the weather isn't cooperating!

Hi Carroll,
Thanks for the suggestions! I've given some of those a try and like the results. I'm still playing around with edits--and learning a lot about what improves the shot as I go along.
Thanks,

Hi Ginger,
Thanks for your feedback! I like the changes you've made, and I'll give them a try myself. I may reshoot this, since we have a new snowfall and there will be more snow in the foothills for the background.

Hi Carroll,
Very nice portrait! I especially like how the woman is lit from the side, bringing out the red glow in her garment. The movement of the water from her scoop (and her apparent interest in it) creates an interesting element of movement in the image. Like Norm, I think it might be worth experimenting to crop the bottom of the image some...the bottom of the bucket in the water helps tell the story of what the woman is doing, but I think the overall design of the image would be more pleasing without it?
Kudos to you for braving those cold temps! I'll keep this in mind when I'm reluctant to venture outdoors this winter! |

Hi Bob,
I love this! The Moab area is one of my favorites, and I've spent quite a bit of time there. Your image captures the drama and beauty of the landscape, and the warm glow on the underside of the arch is a lovely frame to the landscape beyond it. Beautiful! |

Hi Norm,
I love the perspective looking at the architecture up the hillside! And I like how you captured the two trees on the right side of the image--as if they are ascending the hill as well. My only suggestion would be to try cropping the left edge a bit--up to the first yellow building--I think the rising edge of that building's leftmost wall would be a nice lead in to the image. Looks like it was a wonderful, sunny day to visit there! |

Hi Stan,
Very nice! I love the crisscrossing of the vertical bars holding the lanterns with the horizontal bars crossing the archway--it makes a very appealing pattern. There's also a lovely pattern in the shadows of the archway ceiling. A lot of interest in the image which makes me want to keep looking at it! |

Hi Ginger,
Very nice shot on a gloomy evening! The grays have a nice harmony to them; and the sparkle of lights and the golden glow of the building behind the fountain create interest. I haven't been to Pittsburgh in quite a few years--your image makes me want to visit it again! |

Hi John,
I especially like the colors in this--they work really well together. I have similar thoughts to Norm about the image on the right side--it caught my attention a bit much since I wasn't sure at first what it was. Also, the coloring of the wood in the building is quite different from the somewhat primary colors of the car and the signage and gas pump.
I like the detail in the front of the car contrasted with the more simple background--nicely done! |
