40 Jul 19 Reply welcome Stephen..thanks for dropping iann reading all we have to say Jul 23rd
40 Jul 19 Comment Andrew a nice image for that very moment..but I have tried to see it again and again , for me it doesn't fall into portrait and the cutting top of the yacht also takes the glamour aaway. for the kind of setup as u r telling it should have been a vertical composition or the tight portrait of the person when he would have negotiated a tighter bend..its just what I can think out of it.. 40 Jul 19 Comment As I see the image I can say what an evening sky ..WOW!!!!
but as I see the water I say oversaturation has ruined it...the violets of water are ruining the bushes are uncalled for..image also needs to have a straight horizon..
sorry but these three things just take my attention away from the beauty...
curves and structure in silhoutte would look beautiful but the size of sky is overpowering them with its colors, there are lost in colors of the sky..
a definite long exposure with tripod would have made this a cracker of image
best of luck for next visit soon happy clicking

i have worked a bit as per my taste..
1. straightened the image.
2. using hue and saturation desaturated the water.
3. using camera raw played with highlights shadows contrast and exposure.
4. the bridge is more visible now with the blues in the deep which we cannot remove due to absence of light in those parts, a long exposure would have definitely changed this frame.

40 Jul 19 Comment nice portrait
i would have to love to see wht he was engorssed in making a viewer more connecting to the frame.
as stated by all highlights are more which have been corrected
plus i feel only litting the face and rest would have been lit by spill of light would have added more to the drama and made it more interesting.
like only the face in light with little spill below and in background and a little portion of the mobile is visible.

40 Jul 19 Comment A beautiful frame..i read everyone's comments the softness in the frame will be due to the handheld shooting, a tripod would have helped, the long exposure would have helped in getting more colors in the sky..

HDR is high dynamic range in photography and involves combining the shawdow midtones and highlights individual frame each from -2 to +2 stops so to take all the notes of tones in consideration it has got nothing to do with focus.

The focus stacking if we are talking about in case of landscapes we need to have a tripod and it should be set , then keeping all things constants we will click the frame with different focus points so as to get all points in focus.

For foreground and background if we are landscape artist, and we use filters we can different exposures and then blend them.

for a single exposure with limited means this is a good shot, with nice suttle colors. the tone corrention might help to fight the blue gloomy mood of the frame

40 Jul 19 Comment I am too late to comment but same words crop is tight ..need more space to breathe..plus light is harsh ..more smoother light is needed...yes a more smoother background would have added to the frame as the busy background takes away the attention. Jul 22nd
40 Jul 19 Reply i was expecting good response in salons.. it has been only accepted nothing more than that ..salons are very competitive and hard on judging as there is so many good images.. Jul 22nd
40 Jul 19 Reply I simply love India and I love to be born as human, I love to travel and learn> it would be real nice to share what I know about my culture country and heritage..they just let u explore more about ur existence in a particular place and I hope every place has stories and such experiences related to it. Benaras is safe and lot many people from other countries travel here, you should see it and experience it ..its surreal peaceful and calming..a trance is there in benaras.. Jul 16th
40 Jul 19 Reply thank a lot catherine ..I think I am able to convey the why i made this image ... Jul 16th
40 Jul 19 Reply Need not to be embarraed at all ..Benaras is not about buddhism at all ..sarnath near varanasi is about buddhism..benaras talks about moksha and is the city of Moksha ..Moksha is the belief in hinduism which is freeing one soul from the cycle of death and birth. If we breathe our last in benaras we are bound to attain Moksha and be united with the God. The Benaras is one of the places in India where cremation can take place even after sunset few places apart from benaras can do so.The orange or Bhagwa is the color of holiness, all monks from any sect of hinduism can be seen adorning orange hues or whites. The white powder is the holy ash from the crematorium which is applied and is called Bhabhoot. Every day around 4 am there is babhoot arti which is offered to Lord Shiva in Varanasi the sitting deity of benaras. In bhabhoot aarti ash from crematorium places is smeared and applied to shiva linga amongst holy chants aarti and blowing of trumpets and conch..there are so many deeper meanings to everything which I cannt explain and neither i myself know about all..But Benaras is mystical and beautiful and keeps calling you. You shuld visit once to expereience it. Jul 16th

40 Jul 19 Reply Thanks for the wonderful comments and analysis, no his hands are not dyed, his hands are wet as he was trying to dry his agavastra or the orange cloth by twisting them and then hanging them on the steps. Plus orange hue is due to the cloth in hand plus little saturation increased from me in post process. Jul 16th
40 Jul 19 Reply thanks for the wonderful analysis ..Varanasi or Benaras an ancient city of prime importance for Hindu religion. Benaras is a city based on ghats or river side. There are many ghats which are developed on it and occupied by sects of various branches of hindu religion believers. The benaras ghats are buzzing with activity in morning evening and nearly every hr of the day.I was on boat when i spotted this fellow deep high on stairs. It was clicked using 70-200 mm lens. I have no goal as such I love to do photography travel and nature are my genres..thanks once again Jul 16th
40 Jul 19 Reply thanks , Andrew i will also try the center composition for the same. Jul 16th
