Dear Bai
I was using 600mm on D4s, gypsy was vibrating a lot on the floor of jungle iso was 4000 to avoid any shutter lag and blurring but still some frames do get blurred due to sudden movement of the mammal ...but I was lucky as I was able to make some sharp shots and it was one of the awesome sightings of this feline..she is known to charge on gypsies on game drive.
Mike's version is equally beautiful..rest the image retouching is a personal taste thing.. |

the ear spot behind the tigers ear give an impression to the other predators that some one is watching them when tiger is not looking at them ...it acts like another fake pair of eyes

Thanks Mervyn ..for being so motivating tiger was on the move and driver was little afraid as this tigress use to charge and do mock charges on jeep so he was not able to hold his ground and was literally backing up again and again..his speed was inconsistent so making a frame was challenge but I was able to meet it ..this frame was close on his feet..tiger being on move so its hard to get all things tack sharp in focus.. |

Thanks Andrew Settings are still not with me as I am on move but the equipment used was d4s which was on ISO 4000 and it was yielding 600mm lens with 1.4 tc aperture was 5.6 widest open it can offer. Shutter speed must have been around 1/800 or so. It was a dense canopied forest and she was on her stroll walking into me. |

Wow ..what an image I also dream to have a same shot of fall and flowing water in portfolio of pics ...but just a single point I feel foreground is really well done but we need to also set the tones and contrast right for the background ..with some color setting as it seems some blue in water .. |

beautiful and serene image though I feel it lacks the dynamic range of a camera sensor as there we can see many blacks on the trees and foreground ..otherwise it a wonderful frame |

Hi Jamie , we were in a jeep and yes its bit scary when tiger is coming head on towards you and difficult also as we cant stop jeep on track it moving in reverse and tiger is walking towards us ...I am doing Wild safari's every year and nearly every second month so I am little attuned to shooting in wild and jungle..
thanks for the appreciation its feels good and its motivating. |
