71 Feb 24 Comment The light on Half Dome is glorious. I just wish there was a bit more color in the closer scenery. As Michele said, that is a personal preference. Feb 9th
71 Feb 24 Comment I'll be odd-man-out again - I like this image (although Tom's swan is nice too). I'm curious - did you crop or clone out the gator, cause I can't find him.

I like the zigzag pattern in the water and the reflection in the middle left of the frame. I also think the colors look natural. I probably would have darkened the sky slightly and increased the fog for even more atmostphere, but that's just me.		 Feb 9th
71 Feb 24 Comment I agree with Michele that this is a very nice composition and with his reasons for that statement. I also agree about the odd patches on the right. Atttached is my attempt at correcting the right border. A bright blade of grass along the bottom edge was also cloned out.

You also might want to try this as a monochrome image to give it a different feel. It's a really nice image.		 Feb 9th
71 Feb 24 Comment I think monochrome works well for this photograph, as does the crop. It also looks to me like there is more detail in the background dunes in the monochrome version. The dodging and burning looks natural and nothing looks overdone to my eyes. The treatment you have given the image makes it look quite bleak, which I believe was your intent.

From what I'm seeing it looks as if the sand being blown by the wind in the foreground is less apparent in the black and white. I'm also a little distracted by the tiny halo along the lower right edge of the trees.

71 Feb 24 Comment Beautiful sunset, Tom! Good job on the timing too. I really like that all lines (both sides of the bridge and the sun) lead to the sun. I agree that the woman adds to the frame and don't care at all that she is just a silhouette. I also like the texture in the water and the clouds are a nice bonus. Feb 6th
