Thank you all for your comments. I obviously need to spend a little more time on this image but I think it will be worth. (I wasn't sure.) |

Once it was saved, it became obvious that they are highlights on rocks. |

Your patience paid off, John, with perfect reflections. I particularly like the soft curve of the dark green that helps guide the eye from the left to the right. It also looks like you caught the peak of the autumn colors.
I like the timelapse too. |

Very interesting composition. For me, the curve of the road in the foreground leads to the building that is closest and the spire of that building points directly to the cruise ship and the spread of the city.
The only recommendation I have for making it stronger is to tone down (or clone out) the white structure immeadiately to the right of the red cargo ship and the half ship on the edge of the frame. |

Well done! I really like the color shift. In fact, I may steal the idea for my shot. |

I agree that the light is lovely and I like the changes you made in response to Tom's comment. Like Nigel, I'm not a big fan of milky water, but in this image I think it helps draw the viewer's eyes to the main waterfall where there is much more detail. I particularly like the autumn leaves clinging to the rocks. However, there are a couple of spots (leaves, perhaps) in the waterfall that I find distracting because they are so much brighter than what surrounds them. |

Well done on the composition - everything is balanced, the mountain is a clear primary subject, and the s-curve of the water leads into the mountain. The reflection is nice, as are the autumn colors.
Really, the low resolution and the wide aperture causing some softness in the mountains is the biggest thing I see that you could work on. There is also a small white something at the edge of the water about 60% of the way back that is a bit distracting. |

I like the natural frame of the greenery and the way the waterfalls and spire of the building create a leading line through the scene. The reflections in the water are also really nice. I prefer seeing the power of the water and appreciate that you didn't smooth it out. My eyes are sensitive to light and I always have trouble telling how bright something is but this looks just a tad dark to me.
Between your description and the photos, I sent off an email to my husband to add Grounds for Sculpture to our list of places to visit! Well done. |
