I'll agree with Nigel and add that, for me, the colors in the landscape are harmonious with the colors in the sky, almost as if the image had been color-graded. My eyes are pulled to the smaller rock sticking out of the crack in the bigger rock and the sapling growing out of the bigger rock, but I think they are more interesting than distracting.
You have every right to be very happy with this photograph. |

Welcome to the group, Michele, and thank you for your comments. I'll go back and work on the shadow as well as the mushrooms. |

Thanks, Nigel. 13 seconds is my typical shutter speed for night photography and ISO 500 is much lower than my usual starting point of ISO 4000, so I didn't even think about noise. |

What would you do to make it feel more like moonlight? |

I can't disagree with anything that has been said. It's a great PJ/human interest image. |

Good job on composing the image to frame the sun and its reflection. It created beautiful light on the beach.
I would go the opposite direction as Nigel and try cropping out a bit more sky so emphasize the beach even more. (For me, the beach is the draw - not the sky.) I would also probably work at bringing out more of the texture in the driftwood and tone down the sky just a tad - but that's me.
It's a lovely image just as it is. |
