Love this image, John! Gave the video a thumbs up and forwarded it to a friend who is really into photographing fireworks too. He was inspired by it! |

The contrast really makes the purple pop and I like the softness in the surrounding field. Nice image. |

I had the same problem. In the end, I went with getting the part on the other side of the circle the best I could. |

I tried cutting out that blue triangle at the top and just didn't like it as well. Trying to get the color balance acceptable was a bit of a challenge too. But it's still the best night shoot I've had this year. |

Between the town and the teeny-weeny cars on the road, you've done an excellent job of showing the scale of the mountain. The piers and the wake of the ship you're on all act as leading lines straight up the mountain. If you're just looking for a memory-evoking image, this is great. I also think it has a lot of dramatic potential, if you choose to go in that direction. Either way you may want to consider cropping the sky closer to the top of the mountain to create more of a panoramic feel. |

I'm fascinated by the light and shadows. There is a shadow along the wall farthest on the left that sort of softens and spills out along the bottom of both walls. It is also lighting the inside right wall of the window with shadow only on the upper lintel and just a tiny bit on the right wall. All that light appears to be a little cool; however, the light around the trees is warmer and quite soft. So many contrasts to ponder - I love it and wouldn't change a thing.
