I agree with Mike about increasing the contrast. You also might try to decrease the halo over the tops of the mountains on the left.
Overall, the small image size we can post here does not do this photo justice. I think if would look really good as a large print. |

I do not find the tree by the house to be distracting; indeed, for me it breaks up the lines of the house and makes it more interesting. I'm also not particularly bothered by the out-of-focus stone wall. Still, if you crop out the stone wall, it puts more focus on the house and the reflections in the water. For me, the image works well either way. |

Great capture! The backlight created rim lighting all around the head and along the chest, further separating it from the background. The colors are vivid and natural and everything that should be sharp is. You might try cropping just a hair more from the bottom to see if it strengthens the image, but either way, it's a really nice image and a great way to kick off the new year. |

I think the lower perspective was a great choice. I also like the way the road and the trees lead the viewer's eyes back to the layers of hills in the background. Nice image! |

Having grown up in the hills of Kentucky and southern Ohio, I'm always on the lookout for snakes. Even here in western Washington where there are no truly dangerous native snakes. |
