71 Mar 20 Comment I'm going to be the odd man out because I love the tonal contrasts in the color version. The black and white is nice too though. For me, the vignette is just a bit heavy and I agree with Trinda about the frame. Mar 26th
71 Mar 20 Comment Were you at the rest stop? It looks to me like it's closer in your image than I remember it being. It's a great shot. My only comment is that there appears to be a dust spot in the middle of the sky on the left.

My husband says to tell you that we check wind speed on the bridge before crossing it in the VW van.

71 Mar 20 Comment The timing on this image so that there is a narrow band of sunlight on the ridge and back of the house just as the fog slid just a bit to the side of the structure is amazing. I particularly like the pampas grass behind the house and feel that it helps keep the focus on the subject. The power line is a minor distraction for me, but I really like this photo. Mar 26th
71 Mar 20 Reply Thanks, Gordon. I tried just cropping out the lighthouse and didn't find it as interesting. Mar 26th
71 Mar 20 Comment I love the contrasting layers and textures and the tonality of this image. Mar 25th
71 Mar 20 Comment I agree with Trinda that this is an astounding image. The black and white works really well and the reflections of the stars in the water is very nice. I can't see any fuzzy spots or other weirdness from the compositing, even after looking closely at it. I also like how you've used light to draw attention to the bench. Once again, I'm envious. 71 Mar 20 Comment I enjoy the contrast between the yucca and the background colors and don't mind the footprints at all. I wish the horizon wasn't breaking the line of the yucca but I still really like the shot. Mar 25th
71 Mar 20 Reply Thanks, Trinda. It really is a challenging location. However, one of the images that I captured that day had a surfer being ejected from his board in the lower right of the frame and got an honorable mention in Photojournalism in the interclub competition. That really made up for all the effort! Mar 25th
71 Mar 20 Reply Thanks, Marla - I do like your changes. Mar 25th
71 Mar 20 Reply Thanks, Nancie. This was one of about 300 frames and some were a little better. It really was all about the waves. Mar 25th
71 Mar 20 Reply Thanks, John. I used a radial filter on the lighthouse but I can try increasing it a bit. Mar 25th
71 Mar 20 Reply Thanks, Mike. This was a difficult image to work with because of the huge dynamic range resulting from sunset. Mar 25th
