71 Jan 19 Reply I'd like that. Jan 31st
71 Jan 19 Reply There is a photographer bent over his camera that I was hoping would provide some scale to the image. I totally missed the stick so thanks for catching that! After reading everyone's comments I went back and played with it a bit more. Do you think this is an improvement? Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Reply Here it is with a different crop to cut out the hillside on the right. Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Reply There are actually two people near the far end of the fence in the shadow but you can't see them unless you pixel-peep! Thanks for you comments. Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Reply You're right about the light on the right and I will try cropping it out. I might have gone for a longer exposure but I didn't have an ND with me since I was there primarily to capture the Milky Way later. Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Reply What attracted me to this image was the golden light contrasting with the shadows. I was hoping to show the height from the water and the distance to the far shore and fear I failed in that. Thank you for your thoughtful comments. I guess I was right in thinking that I like the image so much because of the memories it brings back rather than it's value as a photograph. Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Comment You have to be really happy with that lens! To me, the slight tilt and the negative space around the tower emphasize the height of the building. I also think the blue hour shot was an excellent choice both for the color you got in the sky and because it makes it easier to control the highlights. All I can say is - WOW! Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Comment My vivid imagination jumps right to "it looks like the mountain is shooting lasers at the cloud" and my eyes keep going back there. So I reluctantly agree that it is distracting me from the beautiful rays of light and the mountain. However, it's a stunning image either way! Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Comment Well-balanced and perfectly processed - absolutely stunning. Bravo, Mike! Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Comment Since I live in this general area the first thing I noticed was that you lucked out and actually got some blue in the sky instead of the gray/white wall so typical of winter. Still, keeping as much of it as possible out of frame was a good way to go. To me, the water swirling around the rocks in the foreground is the focal point and you've done a good job of giving it an ethereal feel. I agree that the grass in the foreground is a bit distracting. Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Comment I like the way the textures and colors have been brought out. I love the way the clouds seem to be crowning the peak and was surprised to see that effect was created with only 1/5 second. Lovely image! Jan 25th
71 Jan 19 Comment I like the layers of colors and textures. While it's not a dramatic image, I feel it has a sense of pleasant peace. I agree with the others about cropping some of the sky so that it's more balanced with the foreground mountains. You also might try cropping about 10-15% from the left to place the tallest snow-capped mountain on the crash point. Jan 25th
