It just so happened that "vertical panorama" was the 365 subject of the day; otherwise I'm not sure I'd have thought of it either. I stood in the crook of the fence between the lower lookout and the upper one.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. |

I did try several exposures - f/8 was the fastest shutter speed I could get and the one that best showed the power of the water (in my opinion, of course). A longer exposure was used for the last waterfall that I photographed and no matter what I did, it just didn't come out anywhere near as nice. |

Thanks, Virginia. I frequently do vertical panoramas, but this was the first done with HDRs created from bracketed shots and the first time I'd stacked that many filters.
I tried cropping the top more and think it improves the image. |

I agree with Mike and Nancie on bringing up the shadows on the people - and what a nice shot it is! I might also try to bring out the lines from the back kite just enough to make them visible. There are other changes you could make - like making the clouds more dramatic - but I think they would detract from the subject and the overall image.
I envy getting to be that close to the action! |

Love the angle of the barn and the balance of the barn and the distant hill on the right. In this case the overcast skies give the image a nice, minimalist feel and work to your benefit. Nice! |

Beautiful! I might try to darken the upper part of the sky and the bottom of the water just a tad to make it look more like night, but it's really wonderful just the way it is. |

This is a lovely, ethereal image. I can't imagine changing the way you've processed it in a way that would enhance, and not detract, from it. |

The lighting in the scene works perfectly to highlight the cliffs above the house and the front of the house, really making them stand out against all the shadows. With the short highlights on top of the hillside and along the left, the light frames and focuses on the subject. The shape of the hillside forms leading lines also leading down to it. All in all, a very strong composition.
If the color of the shadows concern you, could you modify it with split toning? (Not something I've done much of, but it might be worth a try.) |

I'll try that - thanks for the suggestion! |

Thank you, Mike. I tried several exposures to get one that would retain some of the detail in the movement of the water. |
