Oh, my, I didn't know about these sliders. Thank you for the ideas, I must try them. So much to learn. Thank you for your suggestions and help. |

Well, here is one more, lightened in the flower and right corner and with the texture added. Also I denoised this one. Thank you for the suggestions, much appreciated. I know my good friend, Lynne Ellyn, who has mastered this, would ask me "Which one do You like best?" and I haven't decided. So many choices ! |

OMG, Yes, I could try that. That's the original image before I put anything on it texture-wise. So many choices ! Thanks for the suggestion.
Here's another version; my original, brightened and denoised. So many choices. |

OMG, way too sharp. I think something in between the two (your first image and this one) might work better. It's a difficult subject to photograph ! |

Hard to tell, because it looks really grainy in your version. But I do agree it's not focusing well. I wonder if I need to call LensBaby and find out what to do.
Thank you ! |

I'm starting to wonder if my LensBaby isn't focusing properly. It should have a sharp point somewhere, especially since I shot at 5.6 -- I must call them.
Thank you ! |

Bob, I don't know what tone curves are, can you help me out? Are they in Lightroom? I don't use LR that much and haven't really kept up with some of the recent changes... Thanks for any help you can offer. |

That's funny, because the "original 2 image" is the one straight out of camera before I did anything. I see other people's painterly images, such as Kathleen Clemons, and love them. I'm still trying !!! |

Hi Meredith,
I looked and looked and thought about this image. I think the rainbow is wonderful, and I like the panorama effect. I do think the bushes/brush at water's edge are way too bright and distract from the rainbow, which is what you wanted us to focus on, right? So I would do a layer mask and lower the brightness of those, or maybe you could do it in Lightroom before going into Photoshop. I wonder how you would like it if you cropped up to the shrubs ? Make it even more panoramic? Then saturate the rainbow even more... Just some ideas. |

I do prefer the processed image, as the colors are wonderful and really I am drawn to the colors -- the boat, the clothing on the woman, and the lily pads. The green on the pads really add a nice pop to the image. I really do like this image; for some reason I do not like the idea of taking images that were set up for photographers to take. I'd prefer photojournalistic images instead. But I do like this image. |

It's an interesting image with lots of texture; I do agree with Meredith that the lack of the clarity on the rosebud is distracting, but that's what drew you to it.
Looking at your original, it's hard to see where the rosebud was ! Amazing that you found it. I think the crack could be softened so the rose is more the subject rather than the crack. But I wouldn't delete it . |

I love the colors and textures. It does make it difficult to know what it is because of the highlights that make it look like a seashell of some kind.
I wonder if you cropped in real tight, it could be more of an abstract, and change the title? Here's a possibilty I thought of, maybe you could play with it some more.
I think if you'd had more in focus, and maybe used a light diffuser, you could have had a totally different image. Just ideas for you. |
