Thanks Peter. Of course beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. I will have to think the crop over. I'm not sure. |

Hi Meredith,
I cropped and this is what I did - do you think I cropped enough? I didn't want it to be a vertical shot but maybe that's what I should have considered. Thank you for your ideas. |

Hi Doug,
Wow, I really like this !! Great exposure and composition, and I love the textures of the petals. I think you picked a good subject !
The only suggestion I could make is to crop up further from the bottom because the leaf is leaving you either wanting less or more of it. Other than that, great shot !
I'd love to know if you picked this and used a black matte board for the background, or - ?? |

I'm glad you didn't find this creature out in the wilds of Africa; I hear they can be quite dangerous.
I love the closeup ! He's looking right at you - I wonder what he's thinking. I love how you can see the texture of the skin - and the hairs on his ears. This is really a nice shot !
The only change I might make is lowering the highlights on him - maybe just on his face.
Great shot, Meredith ! |

It's a very pretty sunset. Are those ponds or streams that meander around? I see some water on the right but would like to see more of it or none at all. It's really cropped in a strange way.
Your buildings are sliding downhill so I would straighten your horizon in Photoshop or other program. I would clone out the building or structure at the bottom because we don't know what it is and it's distracting from what you want us to look at.
I have a number of friends who have been there and your image makes it look quite enticing. Thank you for sharing ! |

This is so lovely and peaceful looking. I love it. I wouldn't change a thing ! Great exposure, motion of the water, all is just so nice !
Could you explain something? You said you shot it two stops under the meter reading. Was that done using the Exposure Compensation button, or did you simply underexpose? I always like to hear peoples' ideas.
Thank you ! |

I think this is a really cool image, Pete ! Orange is my favorite color and the way in which you took this picture really gave it an interesting perspective. It looks like a snowy area with a sky that had something explode in it - or a lot of smoke which created the orange sky (this happens right here, in California!).
In any case, I really like it.
I would straighten out your horizon line. That's the only thing I would do, because the gazebo looks to leaning right. |
