Yes, I like the second image much better, also.
You might look into Topaz Photo AI, it will sharpen your images, especially if you take them through a window. |

Thanks, Peter, much appreciated.
I did crop this one down; do you think I should make a tighter crop, or leave it as is? |

Yup, it changes things, doesn't it? That's why I try several versions when I get something print til I figure out how their printing coordinates with my monitor brightness. And even then sometimes it doesn't work out ! |

Well you might get a print from your original and one that's a bit darker, because ..... I find that if I print something, it shows up darker or lighter than on my monitor. It's sooooo frustrating !! Good luck ! |

Well I have to say it but I agree with your wife. The colors are lovely. I'd like to see more of the tree.
Wow, am I picky !! |

Beautiful city. I would crop off the curved building at bottom and concentrate more on the buildings on the other side of the water. What really interests me is the light-colored, curved building in the center -- what is it? It would really be nice to have description of the buildings in the image, just for me, as I doubt I'll ever be able to go there.
I'd love to know what your F-stop was, because I can't tell if the three buildings behind that are in focus.
Thank you for sharing !

Well, Pete, hippos are so fun to photograph.
I'm wondering where you have your monitor set because this image is quite over exposed. It really is light and lacks contrast, such a shame. The highlights bouncing off the hippo are really bright, too. I did an edit (quickly) to show you what it might look like if you dropped the exposure and added contrast, but I'm not sure you use Photoshop and Lightroom, where these could have been addressed. |
