Topaz Sharpening is around $200. I just don't feel like paying for it, so I think I need to pay more attention to getting it sharp when I take the picture. LOL. Thanks for the idea, though. |

This is the original image. Not very well composed and wrong F-Stop and I should have used a tripod. I guess some people like my edited image and some don't; I like it less now than I did when I posted it here. LOL |

I'm still so curious about this image, and so is Meredith. Why did you make so many copies in LR? And how did you get the purple around the background? |

Funny, I didn't notice the softness, but you're right, there is a softness to the sharp thorns. I just checked my original and there is ONE thorn in sharp focus. I should have used a smaller aperture. At F 5.0 that's not enough and I should have been on my tripod. Lesson learned. Thank you! |

Hi Peter,
You sent me a really small picture, not sure if you intended to do that. It was less than 600 pixels high.
So, this is what I would call a "documentary" type of image. There's not much going on here. The sand horizon tilts a bit and the people are almost in the middle, and I would prefer to see people doing something on the sand. I do like the sun rays, those are really nice. I'd like to see you plop a boat out in the water to add more depth to the image. What is it the you wanted us to be drawn to in this image, that might be something to ponder. Maybe just a nice relaxing day at the beach. I did Google Assateague, it looks like a nice place for interesting photo ops. |

Hi Meredith,
I think your low perspective was a great idea, that's something I often forget to try. The obelisk grave marker to the right adds a nice balance to the other stones in the foreground.
At first I was distracted by the weeds in the middle and then thought, no, that's a maybe not so well kept up cemetery. Weeds belong there, if that's the case. I wish we could read all the numbers and letters on the stones, but you said you worked on contrast and that would have done it, so I imagine they are fading away. Nicely done ! |

Hi, Rich,
I love Ireland, such a great country. "Brilliant", as they say.
Well, here's what I would have done to this image:
1. Straighten it because it is slanted
2. Increase contrast and add vibrance, it's a bit dull and seems over-exposed.
3. Crop off the things on left and right, they are distracting (to me).
So, you'll just have to go back, that's all there is to it!
LOL. |

I'd love to see the original !!
You made 200 copies, OMG that's a lot of work. The colors are really nice and vibrant. It makes a nice abstract. |

I really love this image, Mark. The pattern/curve of the engine exhaust, the colors and sharpness of the airplane, and the not at all boring sky are really great. I might crop a teeny bit off the top, but in any case I just love this picture !! |
