Yes, I did get the same comment from my camera club - to get rid of the leaves by her face. But I don't know if I can do that. I'll try. Thanks, Diana !!! It was amazing some of the techniques that people in my camera club use, which I've never heard of -- in Lightroom and Photoshop. Regenerative Fill, or something like that. I have no idea what that is. |

I'd love to see you brother facing toward the camera rather than away ! I see a sloping horizon line, can you straighten that out? There's a lot of reflected light here, it would be nice to add a layer mask and darken some of the sand, rocks and pier. I've never been to this town, it looks really quaint and nice; thank you for sharing this with us !! |

Lovely scene. Exposure is lovely, wish I had been there.
You mention the rocks at lower left. I think it would be OK to crop halfway into the larger, dark rock and leave out the other two altogether. You don't need all the sand there at bottom. You could even crop some of the sky. I did a small edit just for fun, took out the lowest rock and cloned some of the darker rock to fill in. Cropped a bit. I hope this is OK that I did that. You can always work on editing other peoples' shots, too, to help them see what you mean.
Do you ever use the patch tool in Photoshop? You might have removed some of the lower left rocks that way. But all in all, I think it's lovely. I like that you used a slow exposure to get the milky look in the water. Nice !! |

I think it's San Gimignano, in Tuscany, right?
Lovely town, it's fun to imagine being there. Nice exposure. I do think that straightening out the tilt of the buildings would have been a good idea. The picture, as is, looks lopsided. I notice a cropped head in the lower left. Could you have removed that? Lots of chopped off people. I'd like to see more of the street scene, maybe if you had stepped back a bit that might have shown more of what was going on.
I'm wondering why the words on the buildings are in French and not Italian. ?? Are you sure this wasn't in Provence, France? |

Fun Image, Doug. I like it. If the lens were less pricey, I'd buy one myself ! Great exposure. It would be fun to see some people photographed with this lens. |

I think the background is distracting, similar to Meredith. Also, since we can't see the whole animal, it really sort of reminds me of a horse being photographed by people. You really can't tell what the event is, except for your entire title, which didn't fit in the Title box here. I'd love to see pictures of the animals in a group, splashing in the water. Do you have other images that would show that?
What do they do with the ponies after they are auctioned off?

This is really nice, Diana. Lovely. You really are mastering your LensBaby, aren't you ! I'm wondering if you had used a regular lens, and gotten more of it in focus, if I would like it better. Not sure, of course. The petal closest to the camera lens, I think, would be better if the tips of the petal were in focus. That's probably why I don't like my LensBaby that much, I like things in focus !! But I do love this image. You did a really nice job and your exposure is great. I think the color of the background is nice, also. |

Yes, I did try to remove the leaf but it didn't work. The original picture of her had that leaf in it, and I thought it tied her face to the background colors.
And yes, we do use the word "autumn". LOL.
Thanks for your comments. |
