Diana, which Topaz did you use to sharpen the eye of your bird?

Doug, I bought a LensBaby Soft Focus II, it is going to be a challenge for sure !! Hard to know if the part you want to focus on will be in focus !! So you use the little round disks they sent with the lens? I'm curious how you use this lens as it doesn't auto focus at all. Any help would be appreciated ! |

Yes, I thought that the person over-sharpened. I don't usually use sharpen unless there's something (like an eye of a bird) that would look better if it was sharp. Thank you for your comments, much appreciated. |

This image has so much to look at - so I didn't really notice the man that much until you pointed him out in your description. I wish the man wasn't wearing White ! Can you paint his shirt red or some other color ? He needs to stand out better. Also I'd crop off some of the top and left side. I'd saturate the color of the building just a bit, but that's just a personal preference.
Here's another possible edit. I don't like the black and white/monochrome. |

Robert, You can straighten them in Lightroom in the Develop module under Transform. Play around with the vertical lines and maybe horiz. lines and see what you can do. You may lose a little of your image if the distorted lines aren't too bad. |

It's really a challenge to get these vintage cars in good shots without a distracting background.
This image, to me, is a bit static and doesn't really show off the car as much as I'd like it to. I wonder if you could put it on a completely different background, maybe a sunset or something more interesting. Remember that our eyes go to the lightest part of the image, and here it's your background and the front bumper. So the rest doesn't stand out. I'd even try to get rid of the grass. Hard order !! |

I think it's lovely as it is, and yes you might crop it a little to make the bird stand out a little. But I would avoid sharpening too much ! But if you enlarge the bird in photoshop, the eye is a bit soft. Maybe because you shot through the window? Not sure. I like the background a lot. It's a really pretty bird ! |

If you get close up to this image, the bird's face/eye are not in sharp focus. I would try to sharpen them, although I think the one that was done for you is too sharp. It needs to look natural. Not sure if you were using a tripod. I agree that there's a lot of blue sky that doesn't add anything to the image and I would crop down. You might also try to lighten the right side (our side) so that shadows aren't so dark.
What a beautiful bird ! |

Doug, I had to re-size both of your images because you sent them in as really large with dpi 300. So now I'm not sure which is which.
BUT I like the one that shows up here as the main image much better. The center of the image is in focus and the rest is soft. Very pretty. I would crop down more and make the center a bit off-center (I did one, see my edit). Your other image, which is marked as the original, looks too sharp and not as appealing. |

HI, Mark,
I think this is a really interesting abstract. You surely stopped the action with that fast shutter speed.
I find the left side of picture grabs my attention - then my eyes go to the right but back to the left. It's almost like it's two different pictures. So, I love the left side of the picture ! Wish we could see more of that, if that were possible, hard to know what was further to the left of what we can see. I love the colors, reminds me of champagne being poured into a glass. Very cool ! |

Yes, I like the idea of removing the back side of the pelican in front. I'll do that. Thanks ! |

Thank you. Do you mean crop at the left side, cropping half of the pelican there? It's hard to know how much cropping to do !
