I just think this is lovely, so pretty. I'd like to see it lightened up a bit, although our monitors may be set up differently. Also I long for the center stamens to be in focus.
Other than that, it's lovely and I definitely want to take another of Kathleen's classes ! |

I like this image but I would like to have seen more detail, less of the bottom ocean - not needed. I fooled around with it in PS and Topaz, created more detail pop in the water spray, just to see what I might come up with. Here's what I got.
BUT, how exciting to see those beautiful animals so close-up !
I've been to Alaska twice and never got an image like that.
Thanks for sharing. |

Well, it doesn't grab me. It reminds me of when I've taken pictures of colorful trees and purposely moved the camera. It might be more effective if you would crop off the top half of the image and also increase vibrance and saturation. I'd play around with it a bit. I do like the bottom half of the image.

Hi Mark,
This is a really fun picture, I love the idea of it. These experiments can bring great images !
The only difficulty I have with it is that if you hadn't told us what we are looking at, I wouldn't have known. But since it was a workshop, that's what was available, right? It's hard to identify the fork, because you can't see more of the tines or prongs, but you did a great job capturing the sugar granules.
It would be fun the do more of these. |
