Hi, Mark, Since you were nice enough to comment on my image from Group 10, I'd love to comment on yours. I love the translucence of the petals, really pretty. The one thing I look at, though, that distracts me, is the stems . They look like wires, not real. And is that a clip holding everything in place at lower left ? I would do something about those. But I really love the one with the texture, very pretty ! Nicely done, both of them. |

Thank you, Mark. You're not in our group and you're so kind to give me suggestions, which I really wanted !
Yes, I did plan to put a third person or animal in the picture, I just didn't know which person or animal to put in ! You're right about the lighting -- I should turn one of the girls around to face the other way. I can make them smaller, but I forget how to make shadows -- will have to google that one.
What is a blended color layer? That is something I'm not familiar with .
Thank you so much ! |

Well, it's an interesting house for sure. Hard to tell much about it from this picture, I'd be interested in seeing other rooms. I'd love to see a wide angle shot -- not sure what lens you used or how wide it was. The bird on the egg is really funny ! Thanks for sharing with us. |

HI Diana, I love that you are playing around with wilting flowers. I did that in a club competition once and the judge commented that I might have chosen a more attractive subject. I wasn't too impressed with the comment. LOL
I like this a lot ! I think the subject is gorgeous !
The only think I might change is the color of the background. Did you try other colors? And yes, I agree with Mark that maybe it's cropped a little tight. I don't think it needs dodging and burning, I like it that way.
It's all so subjective !! |

Hi Rich,
Wow, there's so much in this picture !! I agree with Diana, I would play around with cropping to emphasize the part of the city that you want us to pay most attention to. I played around with it a bit but don't know if this is much of an improvement, but I do agree that cropping would be helpful. It looks like an amazing place ! |

Hi Doug, Yes, I probably would have used a slightly higher F-stop - maybe 5.6 - and had a bit more of the image in focus. I think it's your choice how much you want in focus and how much you want out of focus; when I do these kinds of images I take multiple shots with different F-stops and take the one that appeals to me most ! But I think your exposure is good and I like that the center of the flower is sharp. Good composition, too. |
