And I just found out I'm hosting a Foreign Exchange student for a year and my computer is acting up. Everything happens at the wrong time !!
Thank you !

They were in a pot on a chair in front of a piece of black matte board. Definitely a "staged" shot. |

I like it better cropped.
I'd still like to see it without the bright spots on the flowers. |

I would play around with it in post-processing, try to get more exposure on the bird's left side where he is in shadow.
The whole picture looks very dark. |

It's an amazing looking city, isn't it?
To me the picture looks very blue -- did the city look blue to your naked eye? I think I would play around with the white balance and maybe drop the exposure a bit, but otherwise I like it ! |

Manhattan -- what a surprise ! I think it's a beautiful sunset shot. I might think about cropping off some of the image on each side. And my eyes keep going to the brightest thing in the picture -- the lights on the lower right on the building. I would use a make to darken them, because you want your subject to be the sunset, right? Or maybe crop them out altogether. |

When I look at this image, I first look at the flowers and then my eye starts to wander and look at the background, the sticks coming in from the sides at the top, and I'm distracted.
I would love to see this image cropped, tightened on to what it is you want us to look at -- probably the flowers and the insect. I think it's a bit overexposed, can you adjust that in Photoshop? |

So sorry I forgot to post my settings.
I used my Nikon D7000 and a 105mm macro lens.
Shot at ISO 200, F 5.0, 1/250 sec.
I used black matte board for the background.
I processed in Lightroom then Photoshop to clean up and crop, thenI also put the picture through Topaz Adjust and used the Filter Simple Pop to get more detail.
Thank you !
