4 Nov 18 Reply Thanks Ian! You put something that I was always thinking when I saw the photo into words. I sometimes have a hard time expressing myself in words which may seem strange however when you talked about the "psychedelic 60s", it clicked in my mind and it is definitely something that I have seen all along! Thanks for that! Nov 19th
4 Nov 18 Reply Thanks for the comment Erik. You bring up an interesting point in mentioning trying more photographic experimentation. I feel as if much of the photography world has had a tendency to dismiss "experimental photography" because they think it's not serious enough to be considered a real photograph. That being said, I think that slowly but surely, "experimental photography" is starting to be recognized as a type of artistic movement in and of itself and I think that photo judges are starting to look at these creations with new eyes. I'm not sure if a "blurred abstract" photo will ever be looked upon by people as a truly talented effort but it's interesting to me to see how the landscape of photography is changing. Nov 15th
4 Nov 18 Comment This is a fantastic shot! The shutter speed has been done perfectly to show the right amount of blur in the water that is falling! I like Isaac's rendition of the image also. I might have cropped a little bit more off the top to level the composition a bit more but a great shot! Nov 12th
4 Nov 18 Comment By the way, Wal-Mart has their Christmas decorations up (it's after Halloween) so I'd like to be the first to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a Merry Christmas! :) Nov 11th
4 Nov 18 Reply Um...okay. For 258,900 dollars, it better also include a BOAT with the dock! Nov 10th
4 Nov 18 Comment What makes this photo work is the repetitive nature of the colors over and over to infinity. The green color compliments the orange color very nicely. It's a very well done image incorporating many well-defined lines and textures. Nov 8th
4 Nov 18 Comment I really like the subject of this composition which are the stairs. I also like the lines and curves that are shown by the stairs and the various platforms by the stairs.

However I'd like to see a bit more isolation of the subject itself because the lights and the reflections (on the 2nd and 3rd level most notably) cause my eyes to dart from place to place.

4 Nov 18 Comment I agree with all the comments on this exceptional photograph. I will have to check out Aurora sometime. You did get the perfect exposure for the nice "angel's hair" texture of the falls. It was well worth the hike! Nov 7th
4 Nov 18 Comment Such a perfect photo with a great subject. I really like the colors in this and the "crunchy" texture of the photo is satisfying to me as well. I admire the mountains in the background and how they are prominently displayed "near" along with the tree. AKVIS Sketch must be a nice tool to use...I used to use AKVIS Neon for a long time but then I got away from using it once I got Topaz's version. A very creative achievement Bill. I notice how that top part of the one tree looks a little bit like an eagle taking off from the tree (I had to do a double-take when I saw that at first). Nov 7th
4 Nov 18 Reply Interesting. I can sense some debate on the board regarding this. Nov 6th
4 Nov 18 Comment Ah...a lovely shot of some tiny colorful structures. There is so much to like with this shot. I like how there is a nice sliver of road in the foreground which gradually creeps upwards to the right of the frame which I feel gives the viewer a way to enter the photo. The clarity of the houses is very well-done and the clouds in the sky with their distinctive white texture provide a very attractive addition to the picture in general. I find all the colors of the buildings very appealing in a row the way they are presented. Quite an exciting image to look at!

The houses seem a bit too bright and a tad washed-out for me. I ran it through Topaz Studio and came up with an image with a bit more color but perhaps still a bit too bright.

5 Nov 18 Comment Simply amazing work as Nick! I love the story you tell in this image and the magnificent colors that are on display in the background really add to the photo! You have an amazing imagination and it really shows through in this photo. I must say that the background landscape is simply awe-inspiring! Nov 8th

74 Nov 18 Reply Sorry I didn't see this comment sooner Angela. I've been going through some things in my life. Continuous back button focusing might work better and I'll have to investigate that. One of the reasons that I don't use "certain focusing modes" on my camera is because I've been having some issues with some of the things I do with it (such as getting a reliable focus if I use it for an extended period of time). It really needs to go in to Canon for a "tune-up" and I hope to be doing that when I get some money around soon. I have well over 70 thousand or more photos on this camera and it's never been cleaned.

One thing I did want to consider doing is taking a video of all the zombies walking and just leave it running and then I would be able to take that video home and pull stills from the video itself. It might be something I might consider if photograph next year's Zombie Walk. I really appreciate your comments though and will definitely check into it once I get my lenses and camera cleaned and in tip top shape again :)

74 Nov 18 Reply Thanks so much for that kind comment Stephen! I am definitely a writer and have taken classes in it. I even graduated from the Comedy Writing track from Second City Improv. I have discovered that telling stories whether they be mine or somebody else's, is a definite passion of mine. Nov 28th
74 Nov 18 Reply Angela, what did you mean that you are leader of 3 editing groups? Are there groups dedicated to Photoshop and Lightroom?

Thanks!

74 Nov 18 Reply Very interesting! I will take a look at those videos and experiment with your technique! It's very refreshing to see how open you are with your post-processing techniques! Very cool indeed! Nov 14th
74 Nov 18 Comment I was going to start out by asking what is Geroskiopu Square and what's that building you focused on in the foreground? I love the moon in the sky and the shadows that are ever present in the photograph itself. The hint of the clouds in the sky really looks nice also.

I'm a little torn inside of myself though. The right portion is clearly defined (nice structure and detail). Some of the left area (the trees and things located around) dissolve into total blackness. I don't think it's a major thing though.

74 Nov 18 Comment Really interesting landscape photo Angela! I love the grungy looking clouds but that's just personal taste! I love gritty stuff with lots of texture. It's amazing to me to see how you took all those beautiful trees with their colors and came up with such a diverse monochromatic image. The front is a little busy as you have possibly already hinted at and somebody else has as well. I like that reflection you captured but it's kind of lost in the middle of the image.

I was curious because you said you used a hue saturation layer and I wonder if you used that for the leaves or the entire picture or something else entirely?

74 Nov 18 Comment Just look at those clouds in the back hanging over the mountains! Ansel would like it very much! Of course, we all know I'm sure that Ansel was a member of the PSA at one time.Nice off-center composition of the horse grazing as well. Must have been a spectacular place to photograph! The horse looks a bit soft to me but that's probably just my glasses. Well done shot! Nov 14th
74 Nov 18 Comment I love this photo! The focus is done well so that you can clearly read the lettering on the grave itself along with the flag also. It's nice how you used leading diagonal lines to lead the viewer's eyes right to the grave itself. Quite ingenious placement! It's a spectacular photo but I'm not sure if the dead flower lends anything to the photo itself but that's just my minor opinion. Thanks for sharing! Nov 7th
74 Nov 18 Comment I really love the way that this photo was shot. It looks like I am right there with the person observing them and their craft. Of course, this all has to do with the position of the hand and the angle of the view that the photograph was taken at but this type of photography (trying to draw a viewer "into" the action of the photograph) isn't done nearly enough.

I also like how the white patterns radiate from the bottom and the sides drawing you in to the hand in the central part of the composition.

Astounding (I was going to say amazing but apparently I read recently that Stephen King said the word "amazing" needs to take a very long vacation because people use it too much) photo! Thanks for sharing.
