4 Aug 18 Reply Oh come on now...look at that sky :) It's the perfect color for nuclear winter Armageddon . I'm not really sure where you'd place the mushroom cloud though so it won't overshadow the sun. Maybe in the far far right would be good. Perhaps the size of that building but not much higher than that :) Aug 13th
4 Aug 18 Comment Okay..so is it only me that thinks that this picture might look cool with a huge nuclear mushroom cloud in the background? I'm just curious is all... Aug 13th
4 Aug 18 Comment FYI...this photo won Honorable Mention at our local mint festival photo contest that I entered this last week. I entered it in the 18 and over amateur photo contest. My definition of professional is unless you get paid, you're an amateur and I still don't get paid for my photos thus I'm an amateur. Anyway they called in a "professional photographer" from a local city and they went through the various categories and from the 20 or so photos in my division, I was the one the judge liked the best which gives me the Honorable Mention Judge Award. 4 Aug 18 Comment I like this image Ian. I am personally drawn to the eyes and the small catch lights in the eyes. I also feel you did a great job pulling out the detail in the face! Really quite an interesting and very dramatic portrait! Great job on the exhibition! Aug 12th
4 Aug 18 Comment Interesting effect Bill. It gives me a mind of what a Detroit apocalypse might look like. Really great work on the initial base image and capturing the photo that you wanted for you to build upon. The reflection at the bottom of the image is really the icing on the cake also. Aug 7th
4 Aug 18 Comment Really amazing image Guy! I have to do staircases for a local camera club challenge this month but I don't have anything grand like this in my town that I know of to capture :) I'm always quite impressed by how you can do your images handheld which is really a stunning feat in and of itself. The focus on this image is so sharp and the curves are done in such a dizzying perspective. Really amazing work. At times, I don't really know if I'm looking UP (seeing the underside of a staircase) or DOWN a staircase (seeing the steps themselves) which is what makes the photo so disconcerting in its nature. 4 Aug 18 Reply Thanks Joseph. I have no idea how they were holding on either. I was too intent on capturing the silhouette of the riders against the clouds to actually see anything else. Personally I think it works better not knowing how the person is "holding on" to the ride because it causes viewers to stop and ponder the photo longer to try to understand it instead of quickly moving on to the next image. Thanks very much for the comments! Aug 7th
4 Aug 18 Reply Thanks very much for the suggestions Erik! I do have NIK Dfine 2 however I very rarely use it as I also have Topaz Denoise 6 which I use quite frequently. I suppose I should get around and learn how to use Dfine 2 as well. I thought that I put this photo through a Topaz Denoise filter but maybe I was wrong. I'm not sure but the noise might also be a by-product of some of the over-processing that occurred on the photo itself. Anyway I'm very grateful for the notes! Aug 7th
4 Aug 18 Comment Really outstanding landscape! The colors and the composition work well together in this image. The leading line in the photo works well to draw the viewer's eyes further into the scene and towards the background. I think the things in the left field also lends some visual interest to the photograph. The purple haze in the far background in the sky is unusual but I'm not sure the photo would work as well if the sky was completely cropped altogether. 4 Aug 18 Comment So am I to gather that orange blob is pollen that they transport from flower to flower? Anyway this is a really outstanding photo Isaac! It's most amazing to me to see the detail in the bee! I also like the amazing detail of the flower on the right. The vignette works well to focus the attention of the viewer onto the central subject. Really amazing image and I admire the work that you put into creating this photo Isaac! Aug 4th
4 Aug 18 Reply Thanks Isaac for the helpful critique! I appreciate the comments and the crop :) Aug 4th
4 Aug 18 Comment Really nice work on this shot Erik! I keep looking at this photo looking at the faces of the individual animals wondering what they are thinking. The focus was done well and the flowers are amazing serving as a perfect foreground and background for the portrait. I really am fascinated by the position that the far left prairie dog has adopted and they all work well together as a pleasing composition I feel. Nothing further for me to add but great image and amazing work! and the prairie dogs were even polite enough to look in a left-to-right position for you :) Aug 2nd

17 Aug 18 Comment I was looking through the groups and really had to stop and look at this photo because of its unique nature. I love the colors and think the abstract nature of this photo is so very appealing! The zooming lines and the abstract blue shapes all combine together to create a very mesmerizing design to me. Nice work! Aug 2nd
