Bear shots are hard. Recessed and surrounded by fur, getting the eyes with catchlights takes a lot of luck. Having to remain a safe distance away limits possibilities too. Given those restrictions I think this shot as shown is fine. I think a wider angle showing the bear's environment might be better for competition but obviously not as good for details of the bear. |

Nothing I can say to improve on this. As Alan says, its tack sharp and the crop shows of the details nicely. nice capture Tom |

Very striking colors make this a nice shot. I agree, Tom's photoshop changes have made some improvement. If I wanted to be picky I'd also say the crops at the back and top are a little too tight cutting off some detail and therefore distracting to me.
But that's photo competition talk. I like the shot anyway. Nicely seen JoAnne. |

Cora, I like this image a lot. I like the soft pastel colors and the soft focus which all add to its surreal feeling. I think this would make a great wall poster if blown up to 36x24 or larger.
The original is interesting but nothing special in my mind. I think this version is far better and much more of a conversation piece.
Very creative on your part, thanks for sharing. |

This is a difficult genre, since rarely does anything exciting happen. I've photo shot a couple of charity events which were similar to this in many respects. I've no idea what makes good composition at such functions but if the same rules apply as in other genres the table diagonal is nice and leads the viewer into the frame and to the lady having the page explained to her. I agree with Tom on the cropping, didn't notice the original as a touch flat.
Alan, I think this was a good shot for the intended use.
