Nice image Fred. For the most part I agree with Alan's comments (it seems I often do :)) however the bridge I think just adds to the foreground and provides some depth. The haze in in front of the mountains bothers me more. I wounder if the dehaze tool in LR could help either by global or local application. Or maybe clarity and contrast on the mountains would help.
Either way its another nice shot from you Yosemite adventures.
Good job! |

Nice image Alan. That roller coaster must've been really shifting! A well timed shot, everything nice a sharp, great colors and curves.
I agree that it best to rent a fish eye lens rather that buy unless one has a special interest in the type of images a fish eye produces.
Either way well done on capturing this image. |

Yep, very nice HDR Tom. Everything in range to still look natural and you've captured the Parish House very nicely. |

Yes JoAnne congrats on the honor. I know Oxford and the University having worked on collaborative projects and attended many science conferences there as well as many fun outings in my youth. The university does not give away these honors unless very well deserved.
I agree with Alan's comments on your photo. At first I thought maybe you deliberately tilted the view knowing you're a more experienced photographer but if so it's weird to see Tom's Tower and Christ Church cathedral spire at the back at an angle. Also the colors do seem under-saturated or have a color cast compared to how I remember the city. |

Thanks for the comments Alan. I think you're right about the foreground tree. If it was darker and further off center maybe it would be ok but now you mention it I think it best to clone it out. Good suggestion, thanks. |

They always say the best camera is the one you have with you and you captured the detail just fine. Maybe your main camera with macro lens could get more but in bad light its not so easy.
It amazes me how much intricacy there is in the needlework on these things considering the price. I'd say this is a nice capture for a great memory just as Alan said. |
