Hi Judy.
What a great monolith. It must have been awesome to be there. I have seen lots of shots of the Dome but none from this angle. Your conversion to mono is the right choice and done well. I like the contrast of the dark clouds with the sun on the rock. Well Done. Cheers Glenn |

Hi Todd
Welcome to Group 70 from the Aussie in the group. I like your image particularly how you have thought out what you want to achieve and gone ahead and done it. Love you foreground. Well planned. I've never thought to turn my grads upside down so this is a new technique I will have a go. Thanks. I know you didn't want movement in the sky and you achieved this but I don't mind the look of streaky clouds. A personal choice. Welcome once again. Cheers Glenn |

Hi Frans Thanks for the great advice. Photographers should always be aware of their safety. I don't do as much rock hopping as I used to do and I always consider my safety particularly as I get older. Thanks once again for the advice and taking the time to add the comments. Cheers Glenn |

Hi Lamar. You live in a nice part of the world. A very peaceful shot. The clouds on the horizon make the image. The lines on the edges of the grass lead the eye towards the horizon and the fluffy clouds. You have placed the foreground grass well. I probably would have cropped a little of the sky down to the fluffy clouds. You would have made the clouds more of a feature and placed the horizon a third from the top. Cheers Glenn. |

Hi Kathryn. A well handled shot. Although it is always said not to have the focal point in the middle I think you can get away with it here as you have such a wonderful foreground.I think I would reduce the shadows in the trees and darken the sky a little.Lovely lines to the monument. Would be nice to have glassy water but the ripples make the image real and interesting. Cheers Glenn. |

Wow Frans you have really nailed it. Your photography is improving. I love everything about this image. You have placed the golden cross perfectly. The night sky is beautiful and the lights on the building are well handled. My eye goes to the golden cross then looks around and finishes with the castle on the hill. A well composed shot. I would try it in a competition. Well Done. Cheers Glenn. |

Hi Pierre. Great attempt. I've always wanted to try this sort of image with a lit tent but never got around to it. The wonderful part of this image is you were able to shoot with your son. I think a little photoshop would improve your image. I opened it in ACR used a little Exposure, Highlights and lit the tent a little. Also a little Noise Reduction. What do you think? Cheers Glenn |
