Here is the latest version. Used a combination of perspective crop, content aware fill, and clone tool to correct the geometry while keeping the road at its original distance from the right edge. I reshaped the upper cloud some to increase the impression that it was level.

I took the image through over a dozen iterations including some similar to yours where I gave the clouds various degrees of clarity/microcontrast. Also there was one iteration where the hills just below the clouds had more clarity and color. I felt the more defined the clouds were the more my eyes were drawn away from the peak but in the end if I use this image for something I will probably go with something similar to your version. In reference to the horizon I used the peak as a reference and not the clouds.
