Like the bigger image much better because the pattern is much more artistic to my eyes.
Love the different shapes, colors and reflections.
This is something like what I had done in still life photography.
Thanks for the inspiration . |

Nice colors.
The diagonal lines ( strings ) act as good leading lines . |

Hi Peter, Thank you very much for the suggestions. There are many different water drop systems. My major problem is that both the Sony and Fuji systems that I have macro lens for are mirrorless. There is at least one system that put right in their description that it will not work for mirrorless systems.( I really think that it should not be a big deal to design accessories that will fit the connection to mirrorless cameras...However, I know nothing about electronics so it is not a subject that I can resolve myself easily. )
Another consideration is the number of valves that the system will work with. You can use one tube of liquid per valve so one valve limit the number of colors.
Being in Canada, I have to pay the difference from $USD to $CAD ,duty and delivery charge so cost is another consideration.
Finally found an affordable system that can operate multiple valves; even a shoot from below stream so that the possibilities are much more diverse.
Really looking forward to have more time to work with the system. |

Thank you very much, Charles.
I am only at the beginning stage of water drop photography.
Trying different set up in the liquid and camera settings, positions etc.
Really appreciate all the help I can get. |

Yes, this is really sign of the time.
The dark hat and hood give the eyes a place to rest but still let us see lots of textures.
Very nice conversion. |

Love the nice shape of the Bonsai.
Would love to see more detail of the leaves if the really dark tone can be elevate a tiny bit .
The texture in the pot is great .

Great story as expressed by Arne and Bill.
Really enjoy the great detail and calmess of the scene.
I use a 1.4 Teleconvertor with my Fuji 100 to 400 mm lens and the long range serve me very well if the weight is not a problem. When I need to go on a hike I use my Sony RX10 which give a reach of 600 mm for RAW and 1200mm for jpeg. There is a comparmise in image size (20 MP) but if I need to walk for 4 hours then I would rather have my arm intact after the walk.

Thank you very much for the kind words, Bill.
This image have much more texture than most of the others I had seen. The "stem " of the mushroom is the rebound of the first drop of liquid (Worthington jet ) and when it collide with the next downward drop the splash become a mushroom shape.
This is the most basic of 2 drops collision. I had been experimenting with different color combinations of background and liquid . Different thickness and surface tension of the liquids also produce different effects. |
