A superb final image Nelson. The car just seems to and come out of the frame to us. Good capture, great processing and presentation. The overall tones in this whole image are excellent. |

A great image Lauren, good imagination and thinking before the shutter was pressed. Your construction of the elements and execution is first rate. Congratulations on a winner. |

A great image Debbie, very well composed. I'm glad you heard it calling you back. Getting rid of the road was definitely the way to go. I'm undecided about the blue tint, I'm not saying it's bad, but I would like to see it uniformly used across the whole sky, between all areas of broken cloud. |

Welcome to our group Phu and congratulations on a wonderful portrait. When a model and a photographer are on the same page, wanting to produce some good portraits, the results are usually good. This one is very good. Composition and communication are both very good. I agree with Debbie, toning down those blown out areas would really enhance this image. |

Congratulations on a very good capture Tatu. Your use of the timber wharf in the foreground, the structures leading us through the mid ground and the tree line in the background all combine well to bring good depth into this image. I agree with Phu, a little more contrast or clarity would lift this one further. But still an excellent image. |

As that is a tighter presentation, in my mind it's stronger because it forces us to look at the area more intimately. |

Thanks for your comments Gary. The start of September saw the start of spring down here, so it won't be long before I can get back out there and try some more. Only next time I might zoom in a little tighter so I can keep the sky out of the frame. |

A superb image Gary. Great composition, using the reflections in the foreground, then the trees themselves in the mid ground and finally those mountain peaks in the background, all contribute to produce great depth. The tonal range is gorgeous. Congratulations on a beautiful image. Hang it on a wall please. |

A simply stunning image Ray, one that if it was on a wall somewhere, would demand that people stop and look into it, rather than just walk by. Good capture techniques, processing and presentation. Live long and prosper. |

A strong image Butch, well worth the time and effort to get there. Great use of the natural elements in front of you at the time of capture, including the rainbow. My only thought for possible improvement relates to the right hand edge. That distant rock formation on the right edge and that orange part of rock in the bottom right corner. Both of them are right on the image's edge. Would the image be weakened at all if they were cropped out completely? And also, am I seeing a hallow around the dominant rock formation? |

A very strong image Sherry. It leaves me with a feeling of sparse trees out there. As the others have mentioned, your inclusion of the wind blown grass is excellent, just enough to provide a base for the image and add to the story at the same time. Thank you for asking them to stop the vehicle so you could grab some shots, I'm very glad you did. |

Thanks for your comments Butch. Your version is ok as far as it concentrates our attention on the trees, but I prefer to have the small area of the trail showing, as it shows people can actually walk through this area amongst the trees. |

Congratulations on the award Gordon. I see no reason why images previously entered in comps can't be submitted in this, or any other group. I could be wrong if there is something written somewhere that I haven't seen. |

Thanks for your comments Gordon. And yes, different times of day always produce different results. As this was taken on a normal working day when the roads were well used, and the fact that Bondi is a 90 minute drive each way from home, we has to cope with what we had at the time, when we got there. But I'm not using that as an excuse. |

Congratulations on a great image Sanford. As Jay said, good use of foreground and background elements to bring depth into this scene, and the smoke adds drama. The inclusion of that other photographer tells a good story and I particularly like the way you've cropped some off the top and bottom, not a lot and nothing of essential importance, resulting in a nice pano format. Very well done all round. |

A very good final image Jay, well done. It's never easy photographing something that doesn't really appeal to you, but you have done very well with this one. Removing all the extraneous distractions is very well handled, forcing our attention onto the cars themselves. Compositionally, I wish you had taken a step or two to your left (if you were able). Then we could have seen that blue car (mustang???) in its entirety. And you've handled one difficulty in these types of images very well, keeping your own reflection out of the nearest shiny bit. |

The colour of the pine cone is true, from my knowledge of these cones. And taken with a phone, not too bad at all. While you say it now resides in your friend's home and I fully understand that, I must ask, was it possible to move the cone to an alternate location and taken from a different angle? The way you've taken and presented it, does give us a hint of its size, but all those other things around it drag our attention away from the cone itself. Personally and these are only my thoughts Rusty, if you possibly wish to continue photographing smaller subjects such as these and flowers, would you consider going to your local newsagent or art supply store and buying a selection of various coloured sheets of a4 papers? These can be held or placed behind your subjects and provide a neutral background with a colour that suits your subject. I would also consider re-shooting it from a slightly lower point of view if that's possible. |

Another very strong image Gordon. Great detail throughout, I imagine due to the focus stacking. Composition and use of colours are great and presentation in vertical format removes all unnecessary distractions that may have been lurking in the frame(s). A nature shot to be very proud of, well worth getting down in the weeds for. |

A very strong and appealing image Henriette. Your positioning of the stamen, just a touch off centre is good, as is your choice to use pink and yellow together. The image is well balanced in the north and south axies and the brown background on the east and west axies also contributes well. That texture layer lifts this image up another level. Flowers and lensbabies were made for each other. |

Thanks for your comments Jay. I've also wanted for some time now, to capture some waves that have spray going back over themselves when they break. I scored some of those this particular day as well. |
