A good image Tatu. While you say this is a fence, That detail does not change my thinking, I just enjoy the construction, both of the timbers themselves and of the elements in your image. Well done. |

This is a very interesting and image Lauren. I feel that if it was on display somewhere, it would cause the viewers to pause and study it, rather than just pass quickly on to the next one. Well done Lauren. And also, congratulations on being selected for the members showcase this month. |

Congratulations on a great image Stuart. Your composition and construction of the scene is really strong. I agree with Lauren and Debbie in that I feel greater contrast to bring out the foreground detail would lift this one quite a bit. |

A great image Debbie, with a good message and story. Nature can be very destructive when the mood takes it and it's good to see how we humans can come together to help each other in the aftermath. Your image has good depth, provided by the angle you chose to capture it. And I love the blue in it. |

Thanks for your comments Sherry, this has quickly become one of my favourite locations to shoot our city from. I'm determined to get back there and get that elusive sunset over the city. And no, there's no danger of the Opera House flooding, it's sitting between 6 and 9 feet above the harbour's surface. The start of September sees us emerge from our winter and start to enter our spring. Just as a point of interest, we have just had a month's worth of rain in the last two days. It's a bit wet down here. |

Another superb image Peter. Your use of the elements in your composition, particularly the sunset colours are very strong. Your use of the water surface provides great detail of the reflections and there is just the right amount of detail in the silhouetted tree areas. I'm neither here nor there regarding cropping the sky to produce a pano, but I would like to see those power lines removed from the sky. Just a minor detail. |

A great pano Dave, well done. As the others have said, the starkness of the environment here tells a very strong story. I agree that your inclusion of "those" sage bushes is the way to go. Your forethought, capture and processing methods have all combined well to result in this great image. |

Congratulations on a superb image Ray. Revisiting older images when we have increased our processing skills is definitely a good thing. You have shown great use of foreground, midground and background here to produce very strong depth with this image. Your processing, particularly in the sky, has given great mood and shows how the environment can be here. |

One of the purposes of our photography is to provide memories. This image does just that for you thinking back to your previous visit there. Photographically, I agree with Butch, loosing some of the sky and water resulting in the pano, is not a bad thing. Nothing of importance or essential detail has been lost, so the image has not been weakened in anyway. Great colour and time of day for this image. |

A great story telling nature/wildlife image Butch. Our eyes constantly roam around the frame with plenty to see and take in. Your description of the actions taken before the shutter was released is proof that planning and execution was paramount. A friend of mine once said that every artist, at some time, must suffer for their art. It seems that your suffering on this particular morning was worth your suffering. |

A superb image Gary. Commands attention and a longer look from viewers with great story telling, yet peaceful and serene with calm pastel colours. At the moment, I'm unable to see Butch's VF, but the way you've presented it here is fine. |

Thanks for your comments Sanford. Yes, all five images were taken with the same ISO and F stop, the shutter speed changed according to the amount of light in each individual image, not that much near the Opera House, while the traffic lights provided quite a bit more light. |

Another superb image Gordon. Yes, it's fun playing with shutter speeds in these scenes. My personal favourite is 1/2 a second, but it depends on the strength and movement of the water itself. Your capture, processing and presentation is first rate, as always. I'm glad you cropped the bottom off just a touch. That small rock in the bottom right of your original, while it's not a big distraction, it's also not essential to this image, and then the waterline becomes more centered along the bottom edge. |

Congratulations on a great image Henriette. Personally I always believe to "shoot big", that is shooting with the frame a little larger than you envision your final image to be. That way, you can always crop in a little, if you wish to. Your processing is good, with the egret's whites just not quite becoming blown out. And of course, the egret is doing what egrets do. Good timing. |

A great image Trey and your choice to stack the focusing of it, is a good way to go. The composition and cropping to your final image is very strong, as is the inclusion of your fall colours that are balanced in both the foreground and background. Congratulations on a great image. |
