A great rural scene Stuart. Your composition and placement of the barn is good, but I would like to see a little more definition in the grass. |

A great image Tatu. Your processing and cropping from your original is very good and forces us to focus on the family of swans. I agree with Debbie, they seem a little soft in focus. |

Congratulations on a superb image Debbie. Well taken, processed and presented. In my humble opinion, you did the right thing, the tractor and fence had to go. Being so strong in the foreground they steal our attention away from the barn and cow. The tone and detail of the barn are really good and jujst the right amount of sky. |

A very captivating image Lauren. When I first saw it I thought "What in the world is this?" It's one that would insist people stop and study it. Might just give kids nightmares. |

A fine image Nelson, well captured and processed. A very minor detail though and it's just one of those things that when I see it, I can't unsee it. You did well cloning out the people, but seem to have left the reflections of the two people under the wing, their legs are still visible. |

A great image Sherry. Your processing and handling of the colours, together with the levels of contrast has resulted in a very successful image. With all respects to Butch, I'm on your side, that walkway, particularly the orange, just had to go. |

You say your mountains are purple, while down here, just an hour's drive west from Sydney, we have our famous "Blue Mountains", well there you go. A very fine image Butch, of a timeless scene in a rural area. Good composition and depth through use of foreground and background elements, together with good colour rendition. |

Hi Ray and I add my welcome to you joining our group. Seascapes are one of my passions, but as we live on the east coast down here, most of my seascapes are of sunrises. Your image is excellent with great mood in the sky showing the threat of possible bad weather about to strike. Your composition and use of the elements before you at the time of capture are all strong and work well together in this one. |

Another superb image Peter. Your finished image is well worth your efforts and planning. While I agree with Butch about maybe taking it from a lower viewpoint, in this case I agree with what you have done. Your viewpoint here, provides some separation at the area between the end of the "leading" rocks and the distant rocks. A lower viewpoint here might not let us see enough of the water in between. |

Thanks for your comments Henriette. I'm learning new processing skills, one of which is selective adjustments as opposed to global adjustments. Watch this space in the near future. |

Thanks for your comments Sanford. In my humble mind and thinking, the basic ingredients for a good IR photo are 1. a blue sky which goes black in the image, 2. pale green foliage which renders as white in the image (note that dark green foliage still retains shades of grey), 3. white clouds "may" loose their texture and details, becoming just white featureless blobs, and that "other element" in the scene to add some interest. I acknowledge the sky top right is not as black as it could be, but it is what it is. |

I could say you need to straighten the verticals, but that's just the Aussie in me coming out. Hurricanes, along with other natural disasters are not funny things and always devastating to communities. They're not funny at all. You have done very well with your processing and have told a strong story with this one. As Henriette says, a great piece of journalism. |

A great use of long exposure Henriette and suits this subject matter very well. 420 seconds (7 minutes) gives great movement to the clouds and water, which you say was your intent. Everything about this image is very good. A great image Henriette. |

A great image Rusty, well done. When it comes to cropping or removing anything from an image I always ask "By removing this, will the image become any weaker?" I don't mind the amount of sky in your image, but I also agree with Trey and Henriette, it's just a matter of personal opinion and the photographer's own preferences. One thing though, I do prefer to see that tree trunk on the right or your image. It's good to see the branches on the right coming from a tree, rather than just coming in from nowhere. But that's just my personal opinion. |

An excellent final image Sanford. As mentioned, fun, different and your processing really suits this scene. Bright, colourful, full of life and interest. Very well done. |

A very strong image Trey. Well seen, captured, processed and presented. As mentioned, a very delicate flower that shows we should look down as often as we look up. My only concern is the watermark in the lower left corner. I understand there use and requirements, but when they are so prominent can they lead the eye away from what the image is all about? Just thinking out loud. |

Note to Rusty. I have tried three times to email you including once as a reply to your email to me. All emails bounce back to me as "Message undeliverable". Please send me a new email as a test so we can try to sort this out. Thanks, Ian. |
