A very fine image Tatu. Good composition and use of the elements before you. As Lauren said, great detail in the tree and the two women give this image a good story. |

This is an excellent image Lauren. I've seen many photos taken in Monument Valley, but never seen one in IR. Your presentation in IR is superb, forcing our attention onto the landscape features. My only concern is the shadow area on the bottom left of this one. You were there and I wasn't so you know best, but my question revolves around the camera position at the time of capture. If there was a fence forbidding you from stepping forward slightly, have you ever tried holding your camera at arms length above your head. While you can't see through the viewfinder, a little practice will help you hone your skills at this, and after all, digital photos cost nothing. |

Thanks for your comments Lauren. This is actually the rear view of the courthouse. At the time we were there I liked the IR effect of the sky, clouds, trees and grass. The view from the front was pretty munch all trees with no sky. But, to show you that I'll submit a photo taken from the front for next month. And yes, our group has gone quiet this month. Hopefully everyone will be back on deck for June. |

Thanks for your comments Sherry. I can't claim responsibility for the sunrise, I was just lucky enough to be there and see it and fire the shutter every few minutes. |

Thanks for your comments Butch. Yes there are many variables between my eyes at the time of capture and the viewers' eyes, but proof is in the final print. The puddles you mention are rockpools away from any ocean flow, hence their stillness. I included them to add the reflected colour of the sunrise. |

A great image Butch. The rim lighting around the stars of this show is really good and well handled. Like Sherry, I see images within images here. There are many sections here that lend themselves to either vertical or square formats. Well done. |

A great image Gary, showing us just a small section of the vast African continent. Your excluding the horizon from the top forces our eye to look at this finer more intimate section of the landscape. Very well done indeed. |

Another superb image Peter. Great composition and use of the elements before you, especially using the colours of the mountain and clouds. I'm in two minds about the road in the foreground. Part of me agrees with Butch in that with its removal, this image is not any weaker, but another part of me likes the way the road tends to lead our eye toward the village. A very strong image however you wish to present it. |

A great image Sherry, one you should be proud of and show as a memory of your trip there. Well composed and captured, particularly as we all know how fast light changes during sunsets and sunrises. I quite like the "naturalness" of the colours you have presented to us. |

Yes Gordon, my suggestion was in half not serious, but then, a night shot of London Bridge with some sky replacement could result in an interesting image. |

Thanks for your thoughts Trey. There is no particular subject or point of interest in this one. Just the general area for an eye to wander around and explore. |

Thanks for your suggestion Gordon. I was in two minds about cropping it as you did, but was undecided. Your version is definitely the way to go. |

Congratulations on a superb image Gordon. A friend of mine says that every artist must at some time suffer for his or her art. A shoot time of 1:50am is very little pain when this is the end result. Your final image shows great pre-thinking on your part before your fired the shutter, followed by great capture technique, processing and presentation. As far as that pink light is concerned, I'm in two minds. Part of me is maintaining a degree of honesty and authenticity in my photography, while another part asks if some details in an image are necessary, or will the image be weaker if they're removed. In the case with this one, I'd go with removing it. I wonder if we'll see the Milky Way Arch over London Bridge in coming months? |

A great image Jay, well seen, well taken, well processed and well presented. Your sky substitution is very effective and enhances your final image. Just a minor thought though, down here in our club environment, using a sky from the photoshop collection, can be construed as removing your "ownership" from the final image. We encourage and are encouraged to build up a library of skies that we have taken ourselves. That way when we are asked if all the elements in the image are ours, we can say yes all elements came from our own work.
But please, don't let that take anything away from your image here. Great work and very well done Jay. |

A very well seen image Trey, as Gordon says. Your PP is first rate and conversion to B&W is definitely the way to go. You have presented it to us as you wish and you are perfectly able to do that, but I feel the story here is all about the bus and the reflections. So, by cropping the road and line out, we are straight away moved closer to the bus and possibly add a little more impact to the bus itself. But like the others, I'm just offering another alternative. This is still a great image Trey, whichever way you choose to go. |
