Thanks for your comments Stuart. I'll have to improve my processing skills in relation to adjustments in specific areas. |

Thanks for your comments Lauren. Yes, cemeteries are good hunting grounds for IR photography. This is a small un-fenced cemetery bounded on three sides by roads. I particularly like them when their grasses are long, as I think the extra greenery helps bring out the IR effect. |

Good use of IR on the foreground vegetation and textures of the forest leading to the horizon. |

IR images with blue tones have always been a favorite for me and this one is right up there. Good composition and use of the elements before you Debbie. My only concern is a flaw in the clouds near top right. Is it a dust spot or a feature in the cloud itself? Either way, to me it's a distraction. One of those things that when I see it, I can't stop looking at it. But that's just me. |

A great IR subject and image Lauren. Your use of f16 gives good DOF so we can see the full depth of the building and the texture in its timbers. Well seen, captured, processed and presented Lauren. |

Thanks for your comment Sherry. Yes, our weather patterns have changed, our winters are more mild than they used to be and our bushfires and floods are a little more often than in previous decades. Very scary. |

This type of photography always produces interesting images Gary. I'm going to both agree and disagree with Butch. I agree with him that maybe a tighter crop might improve this one, but I respectfully disagree that there should need to be a center of interest in an image like this. It can be good to let our eyes wander around the scene and explore all the little details on offer. Sometimes "Less is best", but that is up to each individual photographer. While I can't see Butch's alternate image, I've also had a play. As you've presented us with a pano, I've maintained the pano format, but just gone for a 2 to 1 ratio. I've only altered it by using NIK filters in Colour Effects; a bit on Tonal Contrast to give the colours a slight kick and also Classical Soft Focus (just 10%) to give a slight soft romantic effect. On my laptop this image is extremely pixellated, but hopefully you get the idea and can choose to try this in your future attempts if you wish. |

This is a great image Dave. One thing our photography should be is fun. This is as close as I've ever been to a bison and know nothing of their temperament, as we don't have them down here. I enjoy the story of the three living creatures just relaxing in each other's company and having a bite together. The environment and building tell me the bison is quite comfortable being around us humans. A great fun photo Dave. |

This is a great image Sherry. It's always good to look back through some of our older work, for me it's a measure to see if and how my photography has progressed. Plus also to reminisce about previous trips. Yes, AI is on its march, but in my mind it's not as "I" as it's made out to be, just yet. Having said that, I do love the new Denoise button in LR.
Your image here is well composed and I'm sure brings back great memories of a town you visited. I'll pretend I didn't notice two slight discrepancies in the reflection on the water. The first being the remaining tree in bottom right, while there's no tree in the upper scene, and the guy in the blue jumper 1/3 in from the right. He's not on the bridge any more, but his reflection is still in the water. No dust spots though. |

A fine image Butch. You mention your preference to include clouds, but with this one, is there enough sky to include any here? The sky is maybe 20% of the overall image and the story in this image to me, is all about age. The old timber barn and the ancient mountains in the background. A cliche? Possibly. To make"your cliche" different, why not try a B&W version? Back in the 50s, that's all they had, and how many great and memorable photos are from those days. So I had a play in Nik Silver Effects. I chose the neutral filter and knocked the brightness down to -10; upped the contrast to +25 and upped the structure to +10. Just for a "different" option. |

Thanks for your comments Gordon. I too, am very OCD regarding level horizons and dust spots. The land to the left of the water does in fact rise up a slope, more predominantly just out of frame left. I will take more care in the future and also have a play with the warp tool in PS. |

Thanks for you thoughts Trey. Yes I did try cropping more off the bottom while I was processing this one, but decided against it. I prefer this one to have a little more of a "base" for the image to sit on. |

Congratulations on a great wildlife image Sophie. The story to me is "Community". Different species sharing the same location and all getting along peacefully. The buffalo is definitely eyeballing you and not concerned about the birds, who are in turn completely at ease with the buffalo. Your composing this image positioning the buffalo and horizon is very effective. Colours are realistic. Bravo. |

A great final image Sanford. Your original implies a vertical stitch to get your final, which does show how we all progress in our photography, both in pre-visualization and capture, through to processing. My only question and I hope the others may be able to answer, how would this look if the village was to be brightened up a bit. I understand this was taken at a time when lighting would have been difficult, but could the buildings just be lifted a bit? |

A great use of line in this image Trey. As you mentioned, the steel and timber provide great contrast between the man made and the natural elements. Your conversion to B&W is strong with a good tonal range and highlight the timber's grain. My only concern is the bright highlight at the far end of the bridge. Could you have toned that area down, just a touch? We can see it's the end of a building, but I think bringing it down a touch would help. I would also love to hear the comments made in your club's comp regarding it as street photography. |

A very strong image Jay. Your processing focuses our attention on the flower that is about to bloom. Great use of its vibrant red against a black background. While you mention you took this after a heavy rain, never discount the use of an atomizer bottle and water. Great "fake rain", particularly on spider webs with a macro lens !!! While this is a great image, I think I would have liked to see the whole of the bottom leaf, right to its tip. This is a bit like a portrait where a hand or some fingers have been "chopped". That's just a minor detail to think about next time. |

A simply stunning image Gordon. Congratulations, you continue to inspire and challenge us to lift our games (well me anyway). I had to smile that you went out to capture squirrels and came back with birds, but hey, that's what happens. ISO 40k, wow!!! But it's all about the resultant image and this is superb. I have just one question though, that straight edge on the bottom right of the post (a sign perhaps), is it really necessary to this image? Personally, I'd clone or crop it out, but that's just me. |

This is a wonderful image Henriette. Red can sometimes be a difficult colour to work with and you have done very well here. Your choice of subject, lighting and treatment are great. LensBabies can produce some great effects. Red roses are all about romance and this is the impression I'm getting from this image. Congratulations on an image that would look excellent hanging on a wall. |
