Thanks for your comments Stuart. Sadly, just out of frame to the left and right are structures that are destructive to the scene. My processing skills are quite lacking, but I am hoping to improve them during this year. |

A wonderfully composed image Tatu with great history provided by yourself. Your use of the rocks in the foreground is very good and your viewpoint gives good separation behind them to the island in the distant background. |

A successful image Nelson. The framing with the tree top right is very effective, but I'm wondering about the necessity of the leaves top left. Are they a dark distraction? Would it detract from this image if they and the two posts below them were cropped out? Still an image to be proud of. Very well done. |

Congratulations on a great image Debbie, through all the stages of capture, processing and presentation. You have presented us with a final image that you like and that is the main thing. The way you have used the elements in the scene before you is great. Personally, I have never thought of trying a tone with IR work, so you have piqued my curiosity. I will now be keeping an eye out for possibilities as well. |

Thanks for your thoughts and comments Butch. I can't remember if I used a CPL filter on. I do own one but can't remember if I used it here. Yes, the variation in the sky colour gives that impression. No changes or tweaks to the colours have been made. I acknowledge your comment about the horizon, but mountains are not always level. I had already added some of Nik's Tonal Contrast, but maybe not enough. I often think less is best. |

A very moody image Dhananjay. The small number of visitors there help tell the story of bleakness. Keeping the B&W effect also helps with the mood. Congratulations. |

A very strong image Butch, congratulations. The different levels of light throughout the layers provide good depth. Your viewpoint provides good separation of the rock formations. |

This is an intriguing image Gary. The way the light is playing on the different layers of this landscape is quite unusual. I fully agree with Sherry, the eye can take a good wander through this one and enjoy all the elements you've presented in this image. A great job. |

A great pano Sherry. You've balanced the colours very well and your use of foreground and background elements provide strong depth. Just as a sideline, clouds always catch my eye, particularly like the ones here. Very flat level across their base, with high fluffy billows above them. Must be something to do with air pressure, I'm guessing. And of course the dirty gray colour of their base gives a hint of what might just be around the corner. A great image Sherry. Very well done. |

The depth and colour palette in this image Trey are simply superb. Your viewpoint and positioning of the elements before you are first rate. All I can say is this is the best image I've seen from you Trey. I sincerely hope this ends up on a wall in your home for everyone to enjoy. |

The Northern Lights are the number one thing on my bucket list. This is a great example of what can be done with our craft of photography. I have heard down here many times "it's all about the image". If a photographer wants to do a composite, why not? As long as all the included works are his or hers. Your final image Gordon is a superb example of what creating a composite is all about. In my mind the "magic" of the Northern Lights, is in the lights themselves. They appear above many types of landscapes in the northern hemisphere. Congratulations on a superb image Gordon. If this was exhibited down here in Australia it would definitely cause the viewers to stop and look closely. |

Thanks Gordon, in my eyes the greater detail in the foreground improves the image. What do you think Henriette? |

After much looking closely I counted 15. I think this might show how some of us like to dig into the details of a photo. And no, I haven't been drinking. |

A great IR image Henriette. Composition is very strong and your use of the elements in front of you is good. My only wish and it is going to happen very soon, is that my personal post processing skills improve. In the meantime, I would love to see Gordon work some of his magic on the foreground grass and bring out some of that texture hiding there. As that area takes up about 30% of the image, I would like to see some detail there. |

A fantastic sunrise image Jay, congratulations. People will always debate things about these types of images, and put their personal preferences in their comments. Shutter speed, inclusion, or exclusion of possible elements (and I'm thinking foreground rocks here). Sanford mentions leaving the birds in, that's fine, but they are so small in the original I had to go looking for them. Your enhancement of the sunrise colours, the minimalism of the content are all great. Very well done Jay, you should be proud of this one. |

Another superb image from the circus Sophie. While you haven't shown us the colour version, I really like this B&W version. You have taken away all the distraction of the colour and forced us to concentrate on the performer. He is sharp everywhere he need to be. Tone and shape are important in B&W and you have done very well here. Bravo Sophie. |

In my humble opinion Sanford, The story of this photo is Humanity. Crowded, colourful, young, old, all focused on an event. A great celebration of a national people. Very well done Sanford. Just as an after-thought, let's play "Where's Wally"? How many people in the photo are wearing glasses? |
