Thanks for your comments Gary. To me, the fence gave some hint towards a "No go zone", or "Trespassers beware". |

Thanks for your comments Sherry. While all the other photos in this portfolio were taken after sunset, when there was just some afterglow left in the sky, this one was taken in the pre-dawn light on a foggy morning. I thought the fog added an extra element. Your hanging man is just some reeds left over from a flood that took place just a couple of weeks before.

Thanks for your comments Butch. I usually give exposure details, but with this portfolio of images I wanted the photos to have a bit of mystery and have the viewers placing their own thoughts to them. |

Your construction of this photo and use of the elements in front of you Dave is great. The way you have the sun behind the tree is a great touch, it gives an interesting highlight without blowing out. |

This is another great image from you Sherry. Your composition and use of the elements in front of you are great, as is your processing and colour rendition. The pano format suits this one a treat. Congratulations on a great image. |

Thanks for your comments Dave. If you have a few spare minutes, go to www.lanecovecreativephotography.org click on the portfolio tab and then my name. You can then see the entire portfolio, together with the statement outlining my weird thoughts about the whole thing. It was a fun thing to do. |

A strong image Butch, and one that proves the old saying "third time lucky". It's always good to set out with a definite plan and an idea of one's desired end result. The colour palette is pleasing for the time of day, as are the elements in the image and the strong directional light. Well done. |

A great image Gary. Sherry will love it, but might say she would like to see a little more silky movement in the water :)
But we are all allowed to capture and present things as we wish. Your rendering of the colours here is great, as is your composition and forcing us to look only at the waterfall. Congratulations. |

A very well constructed image with great balance. Unlike Butch, I don't mind the third person as I expect to see a few people in an area like this. I also don't mind the lights at the top of your image, again as they are expected in these areas. They also give a "ceiling" to your image that echoes and balances the floor area giving a base. Well done Peter. |

This is a fine image Dhananjay. I look at it differently to Butch, I see a lonely solitary fisherman heading out to begin his quest. He has the basic equipment needed, including a canoe which is the most basic form of water craft. The emptiness of the water emphasizes his solitude. Yes, your camera settings might not have been ideal for this type of image, but you were intending to photograph birds. This shows (to me) the importance of being very conscious of our desired end result. I'm a little confused about Butch's comment referring to the area as a playground. Still a fine result Dhananjay. |

Thanks for your comments Trey. To be perfectly honest and not wanting to sound negative, I can't see much difference in your image from mine. As you would know in infra red, blue skies go black which is a feature I like to include. |

Thanks for your comments Gordon. Your adjustments make me look forward to a workshop we are having at my camera club involving layers and local adjustments. |

One thing I enjoy about our group is our diversity. We are free to try anything we want. As you mention Henriette, sometimes we get good results and sometimes not so good. That's all part of the learning. I would be interested to hear what others say about this type of image. If you belong to a camera club, print it, put it up among other people's photos, then sit back at a distance and just quietly note how many people pause in front of this, rather than just pass by. Your use of colour here, together with a relatively simple piece of subject matter, as well as not trying to overdo the effect, has resulted in a superb image. Congratulations. |

A very tranquil image Gordon, that would look good on any wall, home, office of gallery. The swan is a master stroke, well proportioned and with a good accurate reflection. In my mind the cloud is fine, not a distraction at all. In fact, I think its size, location and colour all add to the image in a positive way. |

Congratulation Jay, on a great image with lots of story in it. This is a perfect example why we should return to the same scenes / locations at different times of year, or even different times of day. Scenes are never the same twice. This also looks good as a pano, when you crop off about two thirds of the foreground snow, but that's up to you as the photographer to decide. |

Thanks for your comments Sophie, I have liked infra red work ever since I first saw it many years ago. I think it it something very different from the way we normally see the things around us. |

This is a fantastic image Trey, congratulations, or as you say, kudos. It all begins with a strong original capture. Your processing and presentation here are first rate. This is one of those images that can be presented in many ways and formats, all being equally good as each other. Vertical as you have here, standard landscape, or even square around the buildings would look good. The subject buildings are timeless and you have done exceptionally well here. |

Sophie's comments are very accurate. This woman has great character in her face and could tell a thousand stories. Your composition and exposure are superb with this one Sanford. The colour is great and true to life, while the B&W has great drama and impact. Just for me, I prefer the B&W. |
