73 Sep 23 Reply Thanks Barbara, yes I will definitely return on a misty morning, but as we are now in a hot spring season, that might be quite a few months away. Sep 25th
73 Sep 23 Comment Simply a stunning image Peter. Composition, time of day and processing all combine to produce the result of this image. Congratulations to you for pulling it all together. Sep 25th
73 Sep 23 Comment I like both versions Dhananjay, the colour gives the scene life and vitality, while the B&W gives it a serenity and a sense of age. Taking out that distracting element on the right side above the tree was a definite must. Your viewpoint also provides good depth as the shore curves around. Well done to you. And also to Sherry regarding the dust spots. Sep 25th
73 Sep 23 Comment A very strong image Dave, with a good sense of location in winter. I have trouble getting my head around temperatures so cold that they can freeze a waterfall. My only question is if it's possible to bring some detail into the foreground trees, rather than have them remain featureless silhouettes? But still, a great image. Sep 25th
73 Sep 23 Comment A superb image Gary, well done. I'm really pleased when photographers go out with a mission and plan in mind, rather than just shooting what pops up in front of them. Yes, Mother Nature did come to the party for this one, and you were there to greet her. Congratulations on a lovely peaceful and serene image. Sep 25th
73 Sep 23 Comment The time of day here Barbara really boosts this image and gives it some mood. That lifts it from being just another seascape. I normally prefer some movement in the water, but at this particular time, the water wasn't doing all that much, so your shutter speed was quite appropriate. Well done. And no dust spots ;) Sep 25th
73 Sep 23 Comment Isn't it great when we can combine our photography with some history. A very strong image that supports a great story and piece of Icelandic history. Your capture and viewpoint show this old vessel with ideal location and perspective. Conversion to B&W really suits the subject and location. Processing has enhanced the image and brought out good details such as the rivets in the hull plates. Congratulations on a great image Sherry. Sep 25th
73 Sep 23 Reply Thanks for your comments Sherry, I do enjoy my days wandering around these paths. I don't usually take a camera, but this day I did as I wanted to photograph that misty lagoon I posted last month. Both images were taken the same day, although the fog had burnt off by the time I took this one. Sep 24th

76 Sep 23 Reply Thanks Jay, I did try to bring some depth into this image by using the cliff lines and the distant ridges. The structure you refer to is not a building, it's a remote communications tower. Sep 24th
76 Sep 23 Reply Thanks for your thoughts Sanford. The bottom was a long way down and the climb back up the path and stairs really was exhausting. Down the bottom was much like Henriette's image this month, except for the waterfall, which was the whole purpose of that venture. I'll probably put up one of those next month. Sep 24th
76 Sep 23 Reply Thanks for your comments Gordon, I'm definitely going to make time to learn more PP skills. Sep 24th
76 Sep 23 Comment It's good Jay, that you are watching things on line with a view of improving skills. I congratulate you on that and really should allocate some time myself to do exactly the same. You imply that you wanted to shoot some images revolving around framing and you have definitely succeeded with this one. Your concerns about the head and the horizon does highlight one of the many "rules" in photography, but so what? Kids on swings go up and down. If the horizon doesn't go through their heads, it will go through their shoulders, or their backs. Would you then not take the photo? You've done well here and I look forward to seeing what your next image will be all about. Sep 24th
76 Sep 23 Comment An intriguing image Sanford. Good use of colour and local architecture. Your use of the reflection definitely lifts it from the usual images we see of Venice which concentrate more on the waterways. Many photographers I know down here state that a successful image is one that makes the viewer pause and ask some questions such as "What's going on here?". This is one of those images. Well done. Sep 24th
76 Sep 23 Comment In the USA and the UK you refer to these as woodlands, down here we call it the aussie bush, but it's all the same thing. A great image of nature in one of its purest forms. Yes, dappled and contrasty light is always an issue that we must live with, accept and deal with. You have done so very well here Henriette. The composition is very strong producing as much depth as possible to this image. Very well done. Sep 24th
76 Sep 23 Comment This is a very good image Gordon. Your thinking process about viewpoints and how you used the elements give your composition here good visual depth. Sometimes "not particular good lighting" can be a good thing, to assist with bringing mood into an image. Given the cloudy sky at this time that might be a benefit. I also like the fact that you mention not much processing was done. Another image you should be proud of. Sep 24th
