I hope you don't mind Debbie, but I've had a little play with your image. You mentioned you like the trees, clouds and that great little staircase. I have taken out that little blue distraction, and also applied some NIK filters in PS. I have gone for "Detail Extractor" in Colour Effex to try and give it a bit more punch, particularly in the trees and grass. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it can be an option. Do you have any thoughts? I fully understand if you don't like it. |

This is definitely a "Peter" image. Simple, clean, concise, crisp and timeless. As Sherry said this should be printed, big, and hung to enjoy time and time again. |

A fine image Tom, but like Dhananjay, I would love to see the far end. Even a road with traffic as you mention, could be used to give some human element to a farming location. Strong lines and colours, by all means. |

What a great cityscape Dhananjay. As busy as a one armed drummer, and that's what cities are, busy. Nothing tranquil here. Presenting it in B&W is superb. Great composition and tones, with no distractions. Very well done. |

A great image at a beautiful time of day Sherry. The nearest tree on the right, other trees mid ground left and distant shore background right all combine to provide great depth. As far as the ripples are concerned, being in a boat, I believe if the water is not moving then you must be. In this image I think you have chosen wisely, blurry trees would have killed this image more than any ripples ever would. Very well done. |

Thanks Dhananjay. This was a fun photographic exercise for me, playing around with composition, shutter speeds and DOF, all with silhouettes being seen in my mind. Some worked better than others. |

Thanks Tom. I was really going for the silhouette angle and the lower foreground was just a plain black blob. I wanted the viewers' attention to be on the tree, sky and clouds. |

Thank you for your comments Sherry. Yes, it was a "moody" time of day, right at the tail end of sunset and no two days were ever the same. Different clouds, different trees, different debris blowing in different breezes. A lot of fun. |

Thank you for your comments Henriette. This series images was fun to take every couple of days. I usually ventured right at the end of sunset when the sky was bleak and drab, but I also went out a couple of mornings in the pre-dawn and got a good number of images with no sky but nice fog on the ground. |

Another great close up image Trey. It reminds me that down here we are now heading into our winter and can expect to see similar features in the months ahead. Your processing and slight colour cooling helps us to appreciate the coldness in this scene. I like the shallow DOF, even though you mention f11, it provides good depth with the background sufficiently blurred. Well done. |

Congratulations on a very strong image Jay. Yes I agree with Henriette, B&W suits this one very much. And your processing is great, good verticals, good toning and good content. I'm very pleased that your reflection is not in the doors at the end. Perspective and depth are also very strong. Well seen, well captured and well presented. |

A superb portrait Henriette. Grand daughters are always beautiful and yours is no exception. Presenting it in black and white removes all possible colour distractions and makes us appreciate her skin tones all the more. She stands out sufficiently from the background, her pose is good, but would it be less if her head was up just a touch, to take away that long stretched line on the left side of her neck? Regardless, a wonderful portrait and memory to be cherished for many years to come. Your processing is first rate. One for you and her to be proud of. |

What a great image Sanford. From the moment you asked permission and got there approval, you were on a winner. Although she knows you are taking her photo, she is calm and obliging. Compositionally there is nothing wrong with it at all, good content, good depth and a good black and white tonal range. In my mind, with the colour original, the fishing lure and her shoes could be considered distractions, but your converting it to B&W is a great idea. |

Another great image Heidi. Yes, different from your usual subject matter, but no less effective. Your presentation image, tells me you thought about it all the way through from the capture stage. Placement of the elements, lighting, tight cropping around the timber backing and base, together with some wood shavings, all combine to give a superb final image. And the toning beautifully complements the image. |
