A great image Debbie. I'm not concerned about the centrality of the waterfall, this is a well-balanced vertical image. There are many rules in photography, but personally think they should be considered nothing more than guidelines and suggestions. |

A superb image Peter. Your construction and use of the water to convey depth are first rate. Congratulations. |

This is a great image Janos. Shame about the light pollution, but it is so hard to get away from it completely unless we travel great distances. But then it also helps with the silhouette in the foreground. You mention you used a 12mm fisheye lens, so when I look at the sharpness of your foreground, I'm inclined to think you might have been quite close to it. I then ask What was the fstop and DOF? Perhaps not enough to provide for sharp stars? But as I don't own a fisheye, I am just throwing a thought out there. |

I like the depth in this image Dave. The brighter colours in the foreground and the more subdued colours in the background assist with the perception of depth. The sky does look a little grey, and for me personally, the jury on sky replacement is still out. I fully understand and appreciate both sides of the story. Perhaps just an adjustment with the blue slider in either LR or PS might fix this issue. |

These are both fine images on their own merits Carol. Like Dave & Peter, I like them both. The original shows the trees in their environment, while the main shows us their details and colours. Two different aspects of the same location and both fine images. |

A fine image Sherry. I like the construction of this image, the way the water flowing up from bottom right leads us to that low cloud bank that then steers us back to the right again. It's a great landscape image. |

Thank you Heidi, for this image and also many of your others. Many photographers in a club I belong to down here take photos of "whatever pops up in front of them". Very few think about an image they want to create, and then how they are going to achieve it. As always, your forward thinking and methods have produced an extremely strong image, full of texture, depth and rich colours. Congratulations on a superb image. |

This is a great story of fall (we call it autumn). Nature's transition from life into hibernation, plant life is winding down and the colours are fading. Fog always assists in providing mood in this type of image. Your processing, as always is very good and you have brought a scene from one that we may perhaps walk right by, to one that we stop to look at. Great work. |

A brilliant image Jay. In my humble opinion, the story here is all about the colours and festivities. Your processing has enhanced the image and provided more impact with the bright colours. Removing the tree as seen in the original I feel was the right way to go, but I would also suggest you consider removing the two straight lines (horizontal supports?)from the bottom right section. It seems that when you increased the brightness of the colours, they went along for the ride. |

This is a superb image Henriette. Your original capture is excellent, but your conversion to B&W is masterful. The only colour to be lost from the egret is in the beak and that is so minor. Your final image all distracting elements and forces us to focus on the egret itself. I think this image would do well in a nature competition and would also look very strong printed and hung on display. A great work Henriette, congratulations. |

Congratulations on a very strong image Sophie. Sports photography can be great fun, with lots of action happening at many times. Indoor sports, under artificial light is not always ideal for photography so we must cope and do the best with what we are given. Keeping the puck in the frame, I feel is essential as it is what the game (and story) is all about. You have captured a great story of the players contesting in their sport with the major players very sharp and the supporting adequately sharp. You should be very proud of this image as your first attempt and definitely make return visits to this sport and also other sports. Henriette's treatment has also brought out the three central figures well. |
