Hi Gary, congratulations on an outstanding image. Architecture is a genre that can be played around with for many hours, both at the times of capture and processing. My processing skills are very basic compared to many other people, but I can't help asking, rather than stay with either colour or black and white, why not try a bit of both? How would it look if you removed the cream colour of the building and made it white, while retaining all those great blues? |

Congratulations on a stunning image Hans. You have presented an image that has everything; colours, action and depth and impact. The movements and urgency of the boat crews provide us with an outstanding sports image with a great story. Wonderfully done. |

Thank you Sherry, it's always good to get out in the sun now and then. Having said that we are now starting to enter our winter down here. |

Dave, don't worry about lying uncomfortably on boulders trying to get close to the water. Shoes and socks off, pant legs rolled up and get in the water !!! Fresh water won't hurt a tripod and salt water can be rinsed off when you get back home anyway. Having said that, what you have done here to include the foreground rocks is to be commended very much. This image is wonderful, just as you have presented it. Good colours and composition, pleasing reflections while we can still see some underwater rocks close to the camera. A superb image. Very well done indeed. |

I love the way you have controlled the light in what I think would be a very contrasty location. We can't see the top of the walls, and that doesn't matter, but the shadows are telling me that the sun is somewhere around 30 to 45 degrees. A great warmth to the image. That water will bring out just how subjective our craft of photography is. Some people will say they like frozen or static water, while others will prefer it be flow and appear moving. Me, I prefer to look at each image on it's own merits. While my preference for shooting water is around half a second or so, with this particular image, your use of 1/100 definitely does not detract from the image. Very well done indeed. |

Great use of stitching Janos. May I ask what your lens length was please? Your composition and use of the reflections provide great interest to this part of a beautiful city. Some people might comment on the cranes, but I doubt there is a city anywhere in the world that does not have cranes in their skylines showing their continual development. A great image Janos, congratulations. |

An inspiring image Sherry. Great composition, colours & depth. I think the way you have presented this image is fine. When standing on a coastal location such as this, one would always expect to see some small amount of haze, be it from the air, or from the water. Another great image to find a spot on your walls. |

Everything about this image is stunning Peter. The composition is superb, the angle of the mill and the creek give great depth. The colours are beautifully handled. Your use of the ND and polarizer filters is masterful. I love the way we can see through the water to the rocks below. The streaks give a wonderful movement to the water and the cascades in the background still retain good detail. This image really deserves to be enlarged and hung on a wall. Congratulations. |

Thanks Heidi. I understand your comments on the rocks, but those shadows were only increasing due to the time of day, and my eyes were just focused on getting the rainbow right. Hopefully next time I will be able to get one in the morning light. |

Thank you Sophie. Many photos were taken during this 2o minute session, some showing more of the rainbow, a couple showing the full arch and even one showing the other end coming down onto a surfer. |

Thank you for your comments Henriette. This was a fun 20 minutes of photography, even though we got damp in those light intermittent showers. But our cameras stayed dry!!! |

A great use of the colours you were presented with Jay. The pinks and greens work well together. The bokeh in the background is great and the light colours there lift the image. The cones in the center of the image give great interest. Your use of a 100macro lens is the right choice for this type of photography. Well done. |

The warmth of this image Heidi is first rate. Your light painting is superb. It gives great texture to the timber and also provides beautiful colouring to all the elements, the asparagus, the garlic and even the hession wrapping. While part of me would like to see just a touch more light in the top right corner, the other part of me says no, there is enough detail there to tell me what's happening. the sharpness and clarity is stunning. |

A great image Sanford. Your original capture is fine, while your processing has really brought the colours to life. You have done the right thing (in my mind) by presenting it as a panoramic photo. The details you have deleted at the top and bottom are not 100% necessary. There is still enough of the desert ground and the sky remaining to tell the story of this arid location. Loosing some of those details, in this case, has not detracted from the image. |

This is a great nature image Trey, with superb detail. Many people would walk past a small scene like this and not pause to look at it. The way you have "shot big" and then just presented us with the details that you want us to look at, makes for a strong image. As my eyes wander around the image there is much to see and look at closely, due to all the detail. While the B&W is a good image, my personal favourite this month is the colour. |

Welcome to group 76 Henriette, and what a great initial image. This type of canyon image are classics. Your telling us of your journey down the ladders to get there, lets us know it's not just a walk up and photograph scene, such as my own image this month. And to go down those ladders with the necessary camera gear is no little feat. But then you must always go back up those ladders. Your original image is great, composition and use of the curved surfaces in the foreground and background give great depth to the image. The colour version is superb. Then you have changed it to B&W brings a whole new dimension. You say you wanted to give the impression of flowing water, and you have done that beautifully. When I look at the left edge going from bottom to top, in the colour I see different coloured rocks at different lengths from the camera, particularly where the purple, pink and deeper red come together. That exact same point in the B&W, to my eyes, is water flowing around the rock at the same distance from the camera. I hope you are proud of this image Henriette and just for the records and information to anyone else viewing this work, if you feel the quality of the main image is not as strong as it should be, I feel that is the result of how the image was sent to me. The quality of photography is superb. I look forward to seeing your future submissions. |

Congratulations on a wonderful image Wendy. Composition, colours and your handling of the light are all superb. The movement lifts this image from the ordinary, to an image that will make people stop, look at and also look into. How can it be made better? Don't tell anyone you are not sure how it happened. Let us all think that you meant it to turn out like this. |
