If you say it's a stick, then a stick it is. Or was. |

Is this the month for colorless sunrises ? Let's see what the others post. I really enjoy this image Sherry, your decision to use a slower shutter speed, for me, has given just the right amount of movement to the waves. I wouldn't worry about the rocks being obliterated, that's exactly what waves do, wash over them. Compositionally just the right balance of receding foreground beach, placement of the horizon & those great clouds. The colors overall, are pastel and give me a sense of peacefulness. Please don't think me being super picky, but I notice a dust spot very top and 1/3 in from the left, and another very bottom towards the right. I'm just trying to help you remove some imperfections that could be seen as negative against any image. I do not go looking for imperfections in other people's work, they just seem to call out to me. However, with my own work, I really go looking for them. |

Thanks Jay. I sometimes like to step out of the box and do something different. I know many people in my camera club would all take the same image at this location, with all the pedestrians sharp and static. Sorry, boring. I like to rattle the cage and ruffle some feathers now and then. Just to be different. |

I was in the city of Sydney in 2019 photographing our older historic streets and buildings with a view of b&w images for a portfolio. Saw this while sitting on a corner having a coffee and thought why not? For me, the b&w removes some of the distractions of the area. |

This is a great image Trey, very strong indeed. While your original is not lacking, your processing has lifted it and made it more capturing. This one should definitely be printed, framed and hung on your walls. |

At this time, for some technical reason, I am unable to see anyone's images in the usual group page, so I am viewing the images from your original emails that you all sent to me. So I can't see Cyndy's offered image. But I must say Jay, this is one of the best reflection images I have seen anywhere in quite a while. Your composition of the elements is first rate. The colors presented to you have been used extremely well. Congratulations on this superb image Jay. |

Heidi WOW !!! You have changed a good image of a dahlia into an image that just oozes mood with perhaps some mystery. Your processing has lifted it immensely. I sincerely hope that when you originally took the image you had the finished image in mind and the set off along the path to produce it. A superb image indeed Heidi. |

I like the capture details of this image Jorn, level horizon, toning I presume was due to the time of day when you were there. A lot of the foreground is un-necessary to the image, so I agree with the others that a panoramic image would be stronger. Reading your intention to show the herons practising social distancing, I feel the two birds on the extreme edges help show this, so I would leave them in, sorry Jay. |

Congratulations on a great image Sanford. Capturing a bird on the wing is quite difficult, so I imagine capturing one on the run would also be just as difficult. Yes, it is usual to have any subject entering an image rather than exiting, but all in all this is an image you should be very proud of. |

This is a great image Cyndy. I love the fact that our photography is always so diverse and subjective. I fully understand what Stephen is saying and where he is coming from and I always appreciate his visits and thoughts. Please remember you were the only one there at that particular moment and are aware of the circumstances. Personally, I like this images as you have taken, processed and presented it. I have no idea of what equipment and lenses you carry at any moment. If you were to step closes to the building to eliminate alleged distractions such as flagpoles, other buildings etc, I feel you would then have to tilt your lens up to get the whole building, and then you would have issues with the verticals of your subject building. Of course a PC lens or processing skills may assist you correct that. I also believe that those other things around the building give a sense of life to the image. Cities and streets always have signs of life and activity. So I give this one full marks, just the way it is. And B&W works a treat. |
