A superb silhouette Dave. Colours, details, drama, viewpoint and balance, it has them all. Absolutely brilliant. |

A superb image Janos. You have used the elements very well to construct a vibrant image. The way you have presented it works very well for me. Those 2 amounts of flare don't really detract from the image for me, they are an inherent danger when you shoot towards the general direction of the sun. Your processing to bring details back into the foreground rocks is also very good. |

Hi Debbie, I echo Sherry's welcome to our group. Congratulations on a good first up image. The colours and warmth of the building and tree foliage add to the image. I have many photographic thoughts and two of them are 1. "If you can't loose it, use it." 2. "There are always images within images." Well nearly always. These 2 thoughts have been shown beautifully in Sherry's rework of your image. There was previous discussion about loosing that distracting branch in the center. Sherry has now used it to balance the other one on the left. It's still there, but now being used better, not so much of a distraction now. The building is now the definite subject of the image with no bridge competing for our attention. But it came out of the same image of yours. Finally from me, it's not a crime to ask someone there with you "Can you just bend and hold this branch out of the way for a second please?" Sometimes it can be done and sometimes it can't be done. |

Your constant use of foreground and background elements Peter, show how you consistently produce images with great depth. I'm also very pleased that you like to break photographic rules, like "you shouldn't shoot into the sun". Keep up the great work. |

A stunning image Sherry. Compositionally superb and presented in a slight pano format enhances the overall image. Colour wise, the blues of the clouds and water balance this image beautifully and the greens, pink and yellow in the center bring a warmth. I hope this is hanging on a wall somewhere. |

Thanks Cyndy, sadly there were no cauldrons anywhere to be seen. Quite a few other props that suited the other models, but these witches just looked best on their own, I thought anyway. |

Thanks Jorn, I really didn't do anything to her hair, I just altered the whole image ever so slightly so that her face would look what I thought was the best. |

And you should also submit it to the psa for the print of the month image in the back of the monthly journal. I'll be waiting to see it there...... |

This is an absolutely stunning image Cyndy, I think one of the best I've seen you produce. Art in general and including our photography is a wonderful thing. Jorn has stated he's not a fan of a lot of processing, and he's perfectly entitled to think and prefer that. You as the maker of an image are free to use whatever tools you wish to produce the final work that you desire. I know many painters who, when doing a landscape leave out a tree, or put one in, or move a fence, change a road etc etc etc. But their finished work is what they wanted. I just can not fault this image Cyndy, you've taken something from the ordinary and made it really remarkable. My only recommendation is that you print this REALLY big and hang it on your wall. I will be very disappointed if you don't. |

A good architectural image Jay. The way you have presented it, shows very well that we don't always have to see the whole building. Concentrating on a section of the building forces us to look at the details you want us to look at, such as the wall's curvature and those reflections. |

Wow Jorn. A simple image, but also so strong. The composition is wonderful, b&w version is good but I prefer the warmth of the colour version and the softer colours outside lean towards pastel tones which give it a delicate touch. A great image Jorn, well done. |

This is a very strong image Trey. I acknowledge what Jorn & Cyndy say about the colour of the water, but in my mind it sits very well as you have presented it. Creeks and rivers do stir up sediment when they flow strongly, so a little natural colour doesn't look out of place. Your processing is great, but please remember that we all need a strong image at the start to begin with and you have one here. The movement in the water is spot on. I hope you took many photos while you were here. |
