Wonderful use of colors, tones and textures Janos. While much of the dead trees are in silhouette, there is also just enough detail in their bases to bring interest. Very well done. |

A great minimalist landscape David. So many times less is best. The colors make this a very strong image, as do the lines in the dunes and the positioning of the moon. Sorry, please forgive me, but just one tiny dust spot in the sky about 1/4 of the way in from the right. I'm just trying to help you get the best image possible. |

A superb night time image Nock. I love the balance you have presented us with in the buildings. The low viewpoint and use of foreground has given this image great depth. Your exposure is excellent. Please forgive me for being very picky and it is a very small detail, so please don't take offence. Just at the nearest door on the right are two blue glows/lights. Are they the remnant of someone walking by? |

Very well done Sherry. Some people may shy away from b&w landscapes and call them old fashioned now that we use color so much. But I feel removing the color makes us (your viewers) look more closely at the elements in your image. I have heard many times that color can be a distraction. Just look at the images of Ansel Adams etc and you will see some superb landscape photography. While I think there is nothing wrong with your original color image, your converting and presenting it in b&w has not detracted from it in any way. |

Thanks Stephen. It's always good fun to play around with light and produce some different images. |

Thanks Cyndy. I'm pleased that it came out as I intended. I like to be a little different from time to time. |

Thanks for your comments Trey, and no, I have not changed it to b&w. Technically it is still a color image. Under exposing it to this extent just sucked all light and color out of the image. |

Another fine image Trey. My only thoughts, and remembering you were there, while I wasn't, is the extremity of that furthest mudguard. Cropping the blue out of the very right of the image is definitely the way to go, but, at the time of capture, or in future captures, was it possible for you to just step a foot or 2 to your right? Was there someone or something else there forbidding you to move? Was there something just left out of frame you didn't want to include? As I said, you were there and I wasn't. |

While you call this image quite ordinary Jorn, it is also a good documentary image supporting your thoughts about climate change. The image has good focus and depth in the lower portion, while the sky does not indicate it was taken in winter. Maybe not an award winning image as you say, but it is a good image to support your thoughts on climate change. |

Great capture and processing Cyndy. Your timing and composition with the original capture are great, and that is where any image begins. Your processing and presentation is also great and that is where any image ends. All the way through, you have done really well and produced a great final image. |

A superb final image Jay. The tight crop is excellent. Some people may say they don't like the fencing, but many animals are behind fences, or in cages. Looking past the fence, I see a tiger mouth open and very much eyeballing you. Is the tiger asking you to help it get out, or thinking how you would taste if that wire wasn't there? Your processing and sharpening is excellent. Very well done indeed. |

Stand tall and proud Sanford !!! A friend of mine is an emeritus professor of photography. He states that a successful image must draw a response from the viewer. It doesn't matter what that response is. So when you say people call it provocative, then I call it successful. I love your treatment to it and I would agree with you saying it is becoming ethereal. The subdued colors and soft focusing enhance the mood of this image. My only concern are the bright white spots on Becky's thighs. If they could be toned down this image would be even stronger. Or maybe on your next shoot, take anything white into account at the time of capture. I tend to under-expose images when I think the whites will blow out. It is easier to bring detail back into shadow areas than it is to tone down very bright highlight areas. Congratulations and well done. Get back out there with Becky and her husband and take some more. |
