A stunning image Peter. Great construction of the elements in the image. The colors of the sunrise are almost minimalist as they are just basically orange and yellow. A wonderful copper like tone. Great image. |

Great composition Janos. I like the way you have placed The Milky Way in between the trees. And just enough ground to give the scene a base. It also works very well in b&w. Very effective. |

A great image David and I wish I had taken it. But, just as an afterthought, there is a big portion of black nothing in the lower right corner. There are also so many lights in the scene. Have you thought about cropping off the right section to near the bridge bend. Then that lower right corner would be gone and would loosing the lights in the right section really weaken the overall image? Just thinking out loud. Still a great image. |

Why does this image not surprise me in any way Sherry? A great photographer + good equipment + great location and conditions will always equal a standout image. |

The purple trees are Jacarandas. They are beautiful when they are in flower, but when they drop their flowers, it rains purple underneath them. |

We at some time Trey, must all suffer for our art. But please don't go chopping your ear off. Great composition as always. I enjoy the way the yellow tree, grey shed and green grass all work together to give a nice peaceful effect. A great image as we can always expect from you. |

A superb image Cyndy. Composition, colors and processing are all terrific. I agree with Trey that the lower section of clouds could come down a little, but I disagree with Trey about the branch top left. In my simple mind that branch brings my eye back into the image, rather than disappearing straight up and out the top. Great foreground interest and detail. One thing I love about this thing called photography is that we all see things differently. And none of us are any more wrong or right than the others. |

Congratulations Jorn. A great idea and attempt to make an image out of something many people walk straight past. There is definitely a challenge in an image like this. Reflected inside objects verses outside scenery/objects; time of day outside light outside verses interior light; point of interest in the image; could the image have the opportunity to tell a story? Much to think about. You have done very well producing this imaged that has balanced lighting as well as interior and exterior balance. I look forward to seeing where this style of photography takes you, along with your normal style. It is excellent to try something new and challenging. Very well done. |

Jay, what a stunning final image. I sometimes like to hang back with my thoughts to see what other people say. After all the discussion, please remember a few important facts. 1- You were there, we weren't. 2- You tried for some shots with a 300 lens, learnt your limits, and went back to something you knew would produce the final image you wanted. 3- All "final" images come from an "original" image. 4- Experience is the best teacher, closely followed by practice and preparation (mental & physical). And a last thought is that a polarizer will always suck light out of an image and slow the camera down. But don't they just give skies and clouds the best lift possible. So when I consider the final image you produced out of the original, you have done an excellent job and should be very proud. One last question please, who says you have to jump from 70mm to 300? What's wrong with working your way up trying 150mm & 200mm? Opps, sorry, that's two questions. |

What a great image Sanford and certainly different and unique. Your use of colors against a plain background really make Hal's portrait stand out. Your processing is very effective, just enough to make the abstractness good, but also retaining just enough detail to keep Hal recognizable. This overall image is very well done, and in my mind great for a male model. I would love to see what you come up with in coming months, hopefully with a female model, just to get you little grey cells working. Image of the month. |
